My premature review.

Pirated? Nope....full retail copy. Also I like how everyone is focused on the graphics and they supposedly don't care about them. I personally think that the lag is the biggest issue that might really hurt this game.

Definitely, assuming the gameplay works how they want it too. The patch apparantly does fix networking problems though so you'd imagine there will be an increase in the quality over what you are experiencing now.

It can't be any worse then Shadowrun.

I hope you're talking about it's tutorial, because that game is brilliant. If Brink is only half as good as Shadowrun, it would be an amazing game.

Shadown run was really good, in my experience though it only really appealed to people who are competitively minded when it comes to games.

My guess is that the lag was caused because your playing the game 2 days before release

That almost makes my heart hurt. Why? It's a terribly unique shooter with some of the deepest gameplay mechanics of this generation (on a console shooter that is), and it is extremely tactical, what is not to like? Brink even reminds me of Shadowrun, strange that you would seem to like Brink, but not Shadowrun.

@DektoTLD; I won't deny that, but appealing to a certain market is what more games should do, instead of making it accessible to everyone, and their grandmother.

That's because, in my eyes at least, Brink is more like Wolfenstein + Monday Night Combat + Battlefield. All 3 games that I enjoy(ed) immensely. I do see minor similarities to Shadowrun and Mirrors Edge, but not enough to warrant my decision on purchasing Brink on it.

I agree with ye mate, I think thats a good thing too, however seeing BearTheTyrants thoughts on shadow run is making me wonder how many people who like the sound of Brink are gonna give it a go and not like the team work oriented gameplay.

Am I the only one to think he is fair about the graphics?
He said that he knows a patch is coming for them and stuff, so I don't think people have to always go on about it.

I think its a legit worry to have, for me Brinks graphics were one of its main selling points, I loved the unique hyper-real style they had going on. Call me a pessimist, but I think people are putting too much faith in this patch. (Thats going on the assumption that all these people saying the graphics are bad are actually right)

A patch is a patch, and to fix a whole games graphics... would have to be a pretty big one.

Just saying is all.

The issue with the graphics is not that the graphics in general are bad, it's that the HD textures are delayed in loading when coming into view. This gives a murky muddled look to the game, the patch will be a fix on how quickly they show up. The pretty look we've seen on the vids are there, they just need to be sped up so normal sized patch should fix all that.

I worry about this too. My buddy played it like cod tdm and he kept getting killed. He almost quit but I kept saying how this game takes skill and he should practice movement aiming and playing with the team....he's giving it a try.

To settle this just put out a video then everybody can be the judge. Also I know Bethesda is not directly working on Brink but look at what happened when they released The Pit Dlc for Fallout 3 now that was a disaster I would get a video link and show everybody but their seems to be a problem with youtube or at least for me everytime I go to play a video I can hear the sound of that video but I can't see the video all I see is a big green block over the whole video.
I'm also glad to say I'm hyped for Brink, I don't normally play team based games I play shooters but its always team death match. I'm most excited because this game is not get the whole team and try to finish one task. Its get the whole team split up and try to get as many tasks done as possible and theirs always something to be done or so they say and its also the fact that you can't just have one person go around and do everything.

Fixed the problem so heres what I was talking about its at about 5:19

Now I'm confused, you first said that there was no one else online so you were playing against bots.. How would you explain the lag when you were not in an true online match?

I've played against random people here and there. As we get closer to release more people have been playing. Today I played like 20 games and 1 was perfect.

Also...I just played a match and it looks like they fixed the graphics! Looks MUCH better.
