Drugs trade?

Post » Thu Aug 19, 2010 7:09 am

In morrowind, there was a lot of mention of drugs and a drugs trade, I don't remember too well but I'm pretty sure there was a Khajiit drug dealer in Balmora who paid big money for moonsugar? Anyway, I was wondering if there was any indication in the lore that there is a drugs trade in Skyrim? Obviously that would be in the past but I thought it could be an interesting thing to include, perhaps you could even become a gangster of sorts

I'm sure there will be. There was in Morrowind as well as Oblivion, so I doubt Skyrim will omit it, especially with the darker tone they seem to be taking with the game.

I think there is a drug trade...even in Morrowind where the majority of habitants were religious exited a such thing.

How can we sell our drugs when we barely have any left? We already lost Moonsugar in the change from Morrowind to Oblivion, what if Skooma is next? In addition to any new ingredients for Skyrim I would like to see all the old ingredients. Even if they wouldn't grow in Skyrim like Harrada it should still be imported.

There should be a drug called Skyrim and all the players are addicted.

I enjoyed a lot when playing a Skooma producer (via mod) char who used to sell his stuff to http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Shivering:Caldana_Monrius, in exchange for a sum of gold (also modded, by me this time). Simple, yet a nice detail.

So yes, I'd love to have it. If not, there will always be mods :D

I don't think that skooma and moonsugar trade would really fit into Skyrim. Morrowind and Cyrodiil had borders to Black Marsh and Cyrodiil had a border to Elsweyr and both had significant populations of khajiit and argonians, the primary consumers and producers of the drugs. Skyrim is far away from both of these provinces and is a heavily man-race dominated province. Technically some trade could happen along the Morrowind borders due to the invasion by the argonians though i believe the northern regions still are under dunmer control.

Given the Nordic love of alcohol, I think the obvious Skyrim equivalent would be moonshine

Trading in or becoming addicted to illegal moonshine would be awesome

ya! and when you get caught by the gaurds there could be get away banjo music. (I do agree with you though)

Ever since morrowind my friend and I have always wanted to be able to do the drug trade in the game. We thought it would be cool to be able to get fast money. You could have different locations, and "hot spots" for your drug trades. I think it would really add to the immersion aspect.

Funny, I would like some sort of illegal trade, so then I can oppose it and take down the traders of it. I'm a good guy, I don't do illegal trades, I stop them.

Drugs, the drug trade, and illegal stuff? That should be in the jurisdiction of the Thieves Guild, and the occasional freelancer, whose quality can either be really good or really terrible for your health.
