There's no real merit to my further getting involved in this, especially given that I realized I got enraged enough by a personal attack to actually fire off an equally nasty reply... which thankfully was removed before it had much time to stand.
This is going nowhere. It's impossible to discuss either side effectively, when the vast majority of people who have replied to this thread don't know anything about wands other than what they have seen in pop culture.
The real pros and cons to be discussed would be whether or not it could be adequately balanced with staves so as to make neither one useless when compared to the other... and whether or not Bethesda could give them interesting and unique properties which would make them -feel- different from simply using a wand.
This isn't the discussion we're having.
Instead, it's about masculinity... as if sorcerers with their nerdy clothing and wrinkled faces... and wizards with their ridiculous hats and shriveled tree-branches are the -font- of manliness...
... all of which is meaningless, in terms of merit. It contributes nothing... and the few people who have been willing to have an intelligent conversation are drowned out by the sixually insecure masses worried about looking 'girly'.
So I hereby bow out of this discussion... with the hopes of returning, should it ever lean more towards something meaningful in terms of dialogue.
-Cheers.
