Bosmer height question.

Post » Fri Aug 27, 2010 4:30 am

Yeah, it's all for the humor. But I think Wood Elves are used as punching bags a bit too much. We have Fargoth, Tarhiel, the Adoring Fan, Glarthir, etc. I think it's high time we saw a Bosmer with a more respectable role.

We have Syl and Thadon.

Well in Oblivion, a female bosmer was married to a male nord pirate, in Anvil. However, she was having an "affair" with the local smith's apprentice, who is, IIRC, a Bosmer.

No, it was the nord husband who was having the affair. You find the evidence in the quest where you go after the bandits who try to seduce married men.

Definitely not. One is a pleasure fiend, the other is more paranoid than...well I can't think of something right now, but pretty damn paranoid.
Arch-mage traven was a bosmer. But really, they're meant to be quirky and odd, like a curious forest animal.

I think making the males short just made Wood Elves a punchline. They used to be tall.

I think making the voices less annoying, and adding beards and horns would give them some dignity.

I have often found it rather amusing that in Morrowind, both vanilla and in mods, I have not yet come across a Bosmer couple. So far every female Bosmer NPC I've come across that was in a relationship was with a male of another race. Usually Dunmer. In vanilla Morrowind there is a Dunmer merchant who marries a lady Bosmer and in the Grazelands you meet a male Dunmer who has a friendship with a female Bosmer in Tel Mora. (Admittedly the dialog does not state that they are in a romantic relationship, but they are at least friends with each other). Same with mods. It's as if the female Bosmers don't like their males any more than anyone else does. ;)

Only when a female dunmer has a "Friendship" with a male does it entail anything, because Dunmer women are Promiscuous.

Actually, I'm thinking he was just seduced, like the rest of the males in town. The Bosmer wife was indeed having an 'affair', there's a note that confrims it along with the fact that the two are programmed to meet at a certain time. More proof's in this article:

Nah. For playing over 10 characters and so many hours, it was just something I missed, or never paid attention to. Most likely the former.

Maybe it was just an open relationship.

Sorry about that.

I think there was something hidden in the CS that you could return the stolen stuff from the bandits to either the hubby or wifey. The wife, no matter what, becomes furious, or the husband hides his dirty secret.

So the bosmer is quite the hypocrite, and the nord is a dirty advlterer

I have no idea what quest you guys are talking about, and I thought I did all the Anvil sidequests.

If you are on the 360, it's because those on consoles cannot use the construction set (CS). During the "Siren's Song" quest, the one with the female bandits that prey on married men, I remember someone pointing out and making a mod that the CS had a little portion that you can return the stolen equipment back to the husbands or the wives. And when you turn the stuff to the wives, they get really mad at the husbands, no matter what. And then I made a comment about the bosmer wife being a hypocrite, since the bosmer who was married to the nord was cheating with the smith apprentice.

So when do you find out the bosmer was cheating?

I was never aware of a mod like that! Interesting stuff.
I think it's probable that it was taken out before the wife's affair was thought of, which would explain her hypocrisy. One thing I did like about Oblivion were the little details like this, though there weren't as many as in Morrowind, unfortunately.
