Consistent Crash While Waiting in Anvil

My game crashes whenever I wait in any anvil cell both interior and exterior. I am trying to wait until Quill-Weave is behind Arvena's house. I set the wait time to 2 hours but after 1 hour the game crashes. To be specific the time before the wait is 6:50 P.M. My load order.

Force wait is when you tell your character to wait.
Try just hanging around instead.

EDIT: Crashes during force wait too. Around 7:10 P.M.

I don't think that you have to catch her that specific day, so here is what I would try:

Fast Travel to eg. IC or Weye
"Force" wait some hours (the wait with the slider pop-up)
Fast Travel back to Anvil
Wait for her again

EDIT:
you could try to Fast Travel somewhere closer, and you might be able to catch her that day.

Try deactivating Salmo the Baker.

But first try deactivating AI - TAI from the console - and try waiting again. If the game does not crash you have at least found the cause. Then it may be Salmo the Baker.

When the game crashes when inside a city at always at the same time it suggest a buggy AI Package. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the TAI console commands turns off AI processing.

Disabling AI allows me to wait as normal. After waiting, I reenable the AI. And it crashes immediately.

I've had this exact same problem a couple of months ago, consistent crash at a specific time. Only it didn't matter where in the world (or not in the world) I was. Toggling AI off "fixed" it but only until it was enabled. Never could figure out what was causing it or how to fix it. I ended up restarting with a new character. I chalked it up to using autosaves. :(

  • Open console and type:
    • tai (to turn AI off)
    • save t0 (backup save)
    • coc testinghall
  • Close console
  • wait 96 hours (4 days) (or whatever your respawn time is + 24 hours)
  • open console and type:
    • save t1 (hopefully a working save)
  • close console and quit the game
  • Restart the game and load t1

IF the game loads it might have fixed* the problem (try and wait a few hours to check). To get back to Anvil area (Anvil Fighters Guild to be specific), open console and type: coc AnvilFightersGuild

* it probably havn't fixed the problem, but it might have circumvented it :)

That has unfortunately failed. I will now try and remove mods that add NPC's to anvil. Most noteworthy are The Golden Crest and Kvatch Rising (Adds Refugees). I'll remove the latter.

EDIT: Removal of both mods has ended up fruitless. A re installation may be in order if things do not work out.

If your current play-through has lasted long enough to be affected by it, make sure you aren't a victim of the a-bomb. I've found that it can cause issues beyond those normally ascribed to it. A long-shot, but worth checking out just in case.
