I go to the camp to get the barge to the fort, one of the legion run up to me and ask what I'm doing there, theres two options that end up with him saying " Proceed but any actions of aggression will get you a spot on the cross " , So i walk on peacefully but always get attacked for no reason and can't make it to the barge.

Any reason for this??

Did Boone shoot someone?

I had the same problem. Had to kill one of them silently, take their armor and masquerade as one of them. Only worked until I got to the "fort". Everytime I entered Caesar's tent I'd get jumped. I was neutral with them, though I was vilified prior to running into Vulpes the second time.

Boone will make you kill on sight no matter what if he is with you. He even tells you this before entering Cottenwood Cove. If he wasn't with you then I am not sure why that would happen.

Boone isn't with me, I actually forgot him at The Strip.

I was attacked by one of them in the desert and killed them, and I put on their armor, maybe thats the sign of aggressive thats causing them to attack me?

I'm getting attacked as well without Boone but I am straight up Vilified by them and Liked by the NCR. I figure that is why. Kind of a shame since I had planned to take the easy way and just infiltrate the base.

If you accidently left Boone but he was your companion I suspect they still attack as if he is still with you unless you choose to have Boone wait in the companion wheel. You could also part with him and just pick him up again when you are done in ceasers fort. But if a character gets stranded and you didn't put them on wait then they still put on restrictions ie entering ceasers tent, even if they are not in the same zone as you.

Also I read that if you are wearing a faction's armor, there is a tag that sets your reputation with that faction to low. Let me see if I can find where I read that.

I told Boone to go wait at the hotel, he was out of my party, just me and ED-E, and I still got attacked while entering Cottonwood Cove. Didn't even bother going to the barge though.

So I should make sure Boone is not in my party, not wear the fraction armor and try again?

I had boone waiting in the penthouse when I went to the camp, and they didnt attack me. He was still my companion at the time.

I figured it out, I dropped the beret Boone gave me.

I keep having this issue. I told boone and rex to wait, and they attacked me when I got to Cottonwood cove. I reloaded a save. I told Boone and rex to go to the Lucky 38 and part ways with me, and they attacked me when I got to Cottonwood cove. I reloaded a save. I parted ways with Boone and Rex and took off all armor and they attacked me when I got to Cottonwood cove. I reloaded a save from mere seconds after being approached and having my reputation with the legion reset. I took off all armor, told Boone to part ways, went to Cottonwood Cove, and got attacked on sight again.

So next I reload a save, go to Cottonwood Cove and kill a legion soldier and dress in his armor. I make it onto the barge and into the fort. The instant I get near the tent with Caesor, the dogs sniff me out and I am attacked.

Is this yet another glitch? This is beyond maddening.

The same issue happened to me with the Powder Gang... I was friendly but devious... or whatever they call it. Walked in there someone told me that once I did something stupid I would die, then I said ok, then he would get pissed at me and attack me. I tried everything from stealth boying all the way up to the quest giver, or trying to steal an outfit and use it. Every time they would attack me. In the end, your screwed. Just go NCR and make a new game.

PS: Note that once you go into The Fort... regardless Ceaser will get your Chip... so if you are hated by them you will have to go back and kill him and loot his body just to get your chip back. This was one of my big issues playing on hard mode because of with a stealth boy up if you try to pickpocket him he will know and everyone will kill you.
