Epic Skyboxes

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:44 pm

i really think that they're gonna use epic skyboxes in this game...think of what the clouds, sky, and even night sky will look like...it'll be really nice...and best of all thunderstorms! Not to be a svcker for pulling together traits from other games but if you played Red Dead Redemption...it can serve as a good example of what thunderstorms could like in Skyrim...but it should be more of an epic, unique way and have its own climate to depict the type of thunderstorm

I think an awesome sky and great lighting can go a long way in making the game look better.

Anyone who has played S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: SoC with the Complete 2009 mod can tell you that. It had some amazing skies.

I'm excited for realistic skys aswell.
Imagine if dragons are really in this game, and using them to fly through clouds on a beautiful day. (If you can fly them)
realistic clouds? Thats what I call immersion.
Maybe even space which is probably going too far.

I hope they fixed that thing with rain falling through everything, if they added a die on impact modifier, but it is targeted for every object

All I want are rain particles with collision so that open-air homes don't have rain falling through them like in Oblivion.

Yup. I agree. The rain and snow was kind of weird. It would also fallow you were ever you go.

yeah the collision factor would be awesome...think of hailstorms and windstorms that stir up snow colliding on to buildings and your character

Thats interesting. A whole particle effect could be spun off this idea, causing it to potentially snow and actually collect on the ground.
Ofcourse, this is probably not easy to do, and would cause serious lag.

The clouds need to have their own AI and be real objects. Storms would be amazing too.

If there are storms I hope that you can hear them while you're inside a house or cave.

What about a chance of being struck by lightning if you are wearing full plate armour? :shocking:

Fog?
And mountains raising into the clouds, and being able to climb higher then the clouds, would be amazing.
