Ceasar's Legion?

Post » Thu Sep 09, 2010 5:42 pm

Hi. I'm looking forward to New Vegas (like everyone) and just wondering something.
I beat Fallout's 1-3 and I saw no mention of Ceasar's Legion... was it actually in one of the games? Or is it new to New Vegas? (I just saw the name of it on Wikipedia.)

Caesar's Legion is not in any of the other Fallout games.

It was a faction planned to be included in the original Fallout 3 (which was being made by Black Isle studios). New Vegas is being developed by some of those people so they brought the faction back for New Vegas.

Yay! Slavery!
I look forward to leading a slave revolution. Their army is made up of captured and conquered tribals, so there is bound to be desire for insurrection.

And they sprang out from the Followers of the Apocalypse, following in Rome's steps. Ruled by an emperor, conquering the lands and relying on slaves. Atleast this is how I see them.

The Ceasar's Legion was originally going to be one of the major factions in Van Buren (The unreleased Fallout 3 made by the Black Isle Studios). They are a group of well-organized slavers originated from the area around the Grand Canyon and Arizona. Their society is based largely on slavery and conquest. Their leader is a man named Ceasar, a former member in Follower of the Apocalypse. They are currently in war with the NCR and is trying to eliminate the republic's presence in the east and to push toward the NCR's core religions.

If you want to read more about them, go to:

I hope this help!

I sense a pattern, since Ashur and the Pitt Raiders worked an almost Roman style of government too (fight in the arena to earn your freedom from the Emperor?)

The Emperor was a part of the Followers of the Apocalypse as I said, the Followers are people who collect and preserve knowledge from sources such as books, archives, etc etc.

It will be interesting to see how true they stay to how things worked, one thing that springs to mind is that the Romans didn't allow females to serve as soldiers.

Just like the Classical Romans, CL too will fall for their over dependance on slavery. History repeats itself.

Ceasar's Legion was to be in FO3 aka Van Buren. They have not been seen in any published Fallout Game.

Hmmm, I don't recall any of the screenshots showing any female legion member snow that you say it. Maybe females in CL are used only for breeding/cooking/laundry/etc?

Except Rome didn't really fall because of dependence on slavery.

How would they know how the Roman's worked? Surely any knowledge of how Rome ran itself would have been lost 200 odd years after a nuclear war.

I'm happy they actually have the Legion in this game. They are a fresh face in an old series.

I'd hope that the Ceasar's overall goals could be as complicated as Ashur's was. I think if they were really striving for a goal that would benefit the wasteland that would seem like the only reason I would join them. I hope its not just the view "Why shouldn't we have slaves?" or its going to be very difficult for me to side with them on a playthrough.

Personally I'm joining up with Caesar's Legion. Everyone thinks they are evil because they crucify enemies and use slaves but they are the only faction i see so far that can bring order back to the wasteland. The NCR is falling apart and is weak with crappy soldiers, and they can't protect their people anymore. House is just out for his own gain which I can respect, but overall this will help no one. ALL WILL FALL BEFORE THE MIGHT OF CAESAR!

My thoughts exactly, facepalm was the first reaction when I saw the first screenshot of them. In my opinion Caesar's Legion don't quite fit the post-apocalyptic world. But in any case I will be siding with them atleast once to see the ending that they offer. Though I think that most of my play-throughs I won't really get into faction politics as I've always been more of a loner in these games. Still i'm probably gonna give NCR hard time in more than a one occassion, hate that damned police state. Followers will be the way I go, if it is possible.

Over dependance was only a factor to rome's downfall. Interal conflicts and nomadic invasions were also major factors. There is alot more depth into it but i dont wanna get off topic.
Well despite all odds i'm still joing CL mainly because of how badass they are :hehe:
And the dude with the wolf pelt (name escapes me) is just too beast for me to say no.
