Some additional explanation may be warranted:

This mod adds...
new Amber weapons - Battle Axe, Claymore, Dagger, Shortsword, War Axe.
new Madness weapons - Battle Axe, Dagger, Mace, Shortsword, Warhammer.
Durable versions of all of the above, plus of all of the Amber and Madness weapons that are already in vanilla Shivering Isles.

And it also corrects several mistakes with weapon stats that are not fixed anywhere else, including in the Unofficial Patches.

(For those of you who have not played Shivering Isles:
Spoiler
New weapon sets, Amber and Madness, are added by SI...but whereas most weapon types like Daedric or Elven come in 9 flavors, there's only 4 types of Amber and Madness weapons added by SI. This mod adds the rest of them. And, since a Perfect Amber/Madness weapon is superior to Daedric, that means this mod gives you access to some of the best weapons around!)

We're making the mod as seamless as possible - so the new weapons will be available in the same way as the old ones. You'll find the two blacksmiths in New Sheogorath offering the new weapon types as options. The quality of weapon you get will be dependent on your level (Impure, Unpolished, Lesser...). New Matrices (Amber/Madness Dagger, etc.) will be added to the loot lists where the current Matrices are--in other words, the enchanted versions of all these weapons are also included. As for the Durable and Durable Magic versions...well, we have a plan for how to make those available but I won't spoil it just yet :)

This mod is adding a LOT of new versions of each weapon. Vanilla SI has 64 Amber and 64 Madness weapon versions available, if you don't count the arrows. (4 weapon types x 8 levels of quality x 2 for the unenchanted vs enchanted option). This mod increases that to 288 of each (9 weapon types x 8 levels of quality x 2 for unenchanted vs enchanted x 2 for regular versus Durable).

Edit: We're also considering tweaking some leveled lists so that, on rare occasions, NPCs can make use of amber and madness weapons/armor. I'm a bit hesitant to do this though, since Bethesda didn't do that.

Ah...never played SI so I didn't know that. Probably safest to just expand on how Beth implemented them.

Since you are adding new matrices are you also adjusting the odds of getting any certain matrix -- In the original game the matrices had a certain % chance of appearing and you had an equal chance of any of them being the one to spawn so it was very difficult to get a complete set of matrices already - so was wondering are you keeping the same % chance of any matrix spawning and just adding more different matrices (making it even rarer to get any specific matrix ) or are you adding additional chances of spawning the new matrices thus spawning more matrices throughout SI making them less rare ?

For example on the amber matrices if you added the percentage chance of a matrix spawning in all of the chests that could spawn a matrix you would on any complete spawn cycle wind up with approximately 1 of each matrix throughout the game world ( of course it never actually spawned one of each since the type was random but according to the math you had the odds setup to spawn 1 copy of each matrix throughout all of SI ) so was wondering with the additions are you also increasing the number of spawn points accordingly or keeping the spawn points the same just lessening the chance of any specific matrix spawning (so you would never have 1 of each type of matrix available at a given time making it even more difficult to collect an entire set ! (just a rough example say you have 300 chests that could spawn a matrix scattered through SI and any chest had a 10% chance of actually spawning an amber matrix - on any spawn you would theoritically have 30 amber matrices available (300x10%) and of those 30 you have an equal chance of it being any specific matrix so in Vanilla you would have approximately 6 of each type matrix (5 weapon types available with 30 total spawning 30/5 = 6) but now you add 5 new weapon types would you now wind up with 3 of each type scattered (30/10 = 3) or would you make it still 6 of each type or 60 matrices scattered through out SI by doubling either the % chance of each container spawning an matrix or doubling the # of containers that spawn Matrices ??

I'll have to admit that we have not made a decision yet on whether to change the odds. My personal thinking is that the overall likelihood of getting ANY matrix should not change, meaning that the likelihood of getting EACH of the current matrices should lower. We will be increasing the total number of Matrices per material from 11 to 16; to compensate, I'm thinking that each Matrix should only be 11/16 as likely to appear as it currently does.

I don't have an Amber Battleaxe available for a screenshot at the moment, but here's the Madness Battle axe in progress:

That's compliments of kriscrash by the way:

Spiney: Did all the Amber meshes, some Amber textures, and miscellaneous
Kriscrash: Working on Madness meshes
Ionis: Texture support, especially on Madness weapons

Sounds good - was just wondering which way you might go but doing it that way sounds like the easiest since then you just adjust the LL of the weapons instead of each LL of the chests etc. -- the weapons are looking good so far !

(This isn't the final design for several of the weapons...Spiney has done A LOT more work on these, and has even completed a sixth new Amber weapon. More screenshots coming!)
