Armour and Better Looking NPC's

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 9:42 pm

What kind of influences do you want to see in the Armour? For me, I would like to see traditional European Knight armour influences combined with Bethesda's creativity. I would also like to see full helmets this time that cover your entire face such as: . But, since this is Skyrim we are probably going to see a lot of viking influences as well.

Also, not to beat the dead horse but...MAKE BETTER LOOKING NPCS. That is all. Discuss.

We really need that exclusive GI interview the suspense is killling me well to answer the question yes, and yes. We definitely need better looking NPC's (That includes character creation) and yeah more armor is never a bad thing just don't make Daedric armor easy to get.

As long as the Imperial armor looks Roman-styled as it did in Morrowind (perhaps with some slight modifications for cold weather), I'll be happy.

Stuff that actually looks functional. Hopefully chainmail, ringmail, scalemail, lamellar, light plated, ect.

Also armour should come in multiple designs. Why would everyone wear the exact same set of chainmail? Add a surcoat and multiple designs

Maybe they could specially model each character's faces instead of rendering them in face gen to give them a better look.

Of course we might see European knight armor since the Imperials have influence there.

Seen as the Imperial Legion is apparently based off of the Roman Empire and a cultural connection with middle age Europe has never been made I don't really see where you're going with this

One of the most logical answers I met today
I really think Skyrim need to have less mails and more leather coats. Well, the southern Skyrim that is (the northern parts are more likely to be shores)

I would like for some Characters to look like their not in their 40s or older and for the old Characters it would be nice for them to look different even if its slightly

yeh its gonna be Nordic style, I wish armor would have more European influence, akavair armor will probably be a mixture of Eastern armor and Roman armor

By Azura we need Better looking Female Vampires as I don't want them looking like a man.

Fur and Stalhrim armour is what I want to see. As for NPCs... well, yes. Hopefully this new engine is better at rendering faces than GameBryo.

It's not GameBryo doing the rendering; that's FaceGen :)

OnTopic, I like to see more traditional nordic armor combined with Bethesda's TES fantasy and less generic medieval stuff. ;)

I'd like there to be more incentives for mixing and matching armor. It would add a layer of creativity to the process of choosing your armor.

The steel and iron armor in Oblivion looked very much patterened off of European armor.

Both of which had no official ties to the legion

I'd expect to see some different types of fur armors, especially fur mixed with leather and steel. Its almost a given that the other armors will come back (dwarven, orchish, ebony, daedric, steel etc...) but like Cyrodiil (Imperial arrmor and leather) and Morrowind (bonemold, chitin, netch and indoril) Skyrim is bound to have its native armors.

For whatever types of armor there are, I hope you can hire a furrier to winterize it.

Also if they have a system of adding fur for warmth to a set of armor, you can save the material cost of the fur by bringing it in yourself. Otherwise you pay a higher fee for them to buy it.
