Et in Arkay Ego

Post » Tue Sep 14, 2010 7:20 pm

Travelling through the wilderness I found a camp with a knight and the corpse of a NPC called "Missing Two Inches". I looted his corpse and took a scroll named "The Prophet's Icons". Nothing else. After a quick search on the web I discovered that that NPC is part of the "Et in Arkay Ego" quest. Since I made non progress in that quest, I would ask if it's normal that Missing Two Inches lays dead in the wilderness, and if taking that scroll before the right time could brake the quest...

I doubt that it will break the quest. That camp is pretty early in the quest. The camp is there as soon as you load the quest into the game.

Have to resurrect this thread. I also found Missing Two Inches dead in that camp. I looked at the mod in the CS and found out that he is supposed to be dead. What I'm wondering though is why he has about the best stealth equipment available in the whole game on his corpse (enchanted Daedric shortsword, enchanted stealth armor etc). That absolutely breaks the game for me. I just started a new char and I found this guy at level 1 next to a crowded road near the IC. If I loot him I won't find better equipment for at least the next 50 hours of (real) game time. Not exactly what I'm looking for, it's cheat and nothing else.

So my questions are:

1. Is there any special reason why this guy has this almighty equipment? If not I could just exchange it in the CS with leather armor and a steel shortsword or something.

2. Does this mod add god items anywhere else where a low (or mid) level char can get them easily? It sounds like a great mod, but I spent a lot of time to balance my game so it is very hard in the beginning and becomes easier as time goes by (my char levels up and finds better equipment). If I find Daedric swords everywhere along the roads now I'll have to uninstall it.

Yes Phitt, it does (for 2°). There are books all around that have some ridiculously high prices so you might want to change that.
I don't remember if there are any other items, but I think that some NPCs had some powerful robes on the top of the hill west of Chorrol. (quest related place)

There's no special reason for T. I. Missing to have good equipment other then to show that he is a seasoned adventurer and a cool (dead) guy. I suggest modifying his gear into low cost and less powerful old or worn version.

Phitt/washington: How exactly do you do that? Some magic in TES4EDIT or the CS? Please elaborate... thanks!

Load the mod into the CS and click on the "plus" sign next to 'Items' to expand that list. Then expand 'Armor.' This will open up a list of all the armor in the game directly to the right. Scroll down until you se 'EiABardGauntlets' (you'll see a tell-tale asterisk on its line, meaning this is something the mod changed or added). Double-click on this line. Doing so brings up a properties box, where you can change AR, value, weight, health, etc. When you've changed everything you want to change in this box, click OK and double-click on the next piece.

You can use this procedure to change any item in the mod (they'll all be identified with an asterisk). When you're finished changing everything that you want to change, click the Save icon in the top left and close the program.
