The Classes?

I wanted to be like, a full mage, carrying staves, and wearing robes in Oblivion.
I ended up being a Spellsword and held swords instead of staves, knowing that most of the time, I'm being murdered by physical damage.
You guys think they'll make it more..."survivable" to be a primary magic user in Skyrim?
Skyrim is for the Nords, so you guys think that'll take a big effect on magic as a whole?

beign a pure mage in oblivion with a staff was perfectly do-able. it simply required a slightly different method of play much like how being a stealthy thief requires a different play style to a barbarian

I think they will try. I managed a full mage in Oblivion easily enough though.

I play almost exclusively as a a Mage. So I really hope they make it better than Oblivion. I hated trying to shoot enemies with spells, only for them to rush up and stab me.
I'm not saying a strict, magic only class is undo-able, it could just be improved upon.

improved upon certainly, i'm not arguing that. i actually loved being a mage as i found it much easier to RP than a pure warrior class. i'm looking forward to seeing whats done with it

This is complete conjecture. How do we know if magic will be properly balanced in Skyrim? It's like asking what bugs will be in the game.

I thought playing as a full warrior was hard. You're almost forced to use magic to get your willpower up.

I think playing a pure mage has been perfectly fine in the past few Elder Scrolls games. In fact, downright overpowered. It's a bit harder at first maybe but mages are probably the most powerful characters you could be.

Heh. Everything in this forum is pure conjecture. All we have seen is an announcement trailer with some enticing hints.

I thought the magic casting and spell making was an improvement over morrowind, so if they improved on that into Skyrim, I will be happy. I usually play casters.

How did you feel spell making was an improvement?
I thought it took a bit of a hit, enchanting more so, but still a bit with spell making.

I have no clue how you think the spell making was an improvement over Morrowind, considering there was literally 0 difference other than that it didn't cost money and that there was ridiculous caps on what you could do.

I'd like to see a return of the enchantment skill, the ability to enchant on the fly (however, these would be temporary enchantments, similar to poisons like in Oblivion, although, obviously, potentially more powerful), with permanent enchantments done at more specific locations.
