"Water Consumed" Stat staying at 0 : Fallout: New Vegas

Drank a lot of water but this hasn't moved. The water related challenge, can't remember the name, is tracking how much I've drank but
this stat isn't updating.

First thing I recommend checking is weither or not you have pulled up the console at any time, even accidently. Even if you didn't type a dang thing, merely pulling up the console can apparently disable achievements and stats for that session. (Though, oddly not for everyone) Or if you are using any mod that accesses the console. Not the most intricate of answers, but first thing I could think of that would affect that.

nope. this was on a fresh game, just out of the Docs office and no console. I've got other stats that update.

Only purified water bottles add to the achievement's statistic.

Are you sure? Because I've drank tons of purified water and it's still stuck at zero.........however, the
water drinking challenge tracks as expected, whether I drink purified water or contaminated.
