Features of Skyrim you're most excited about

Post » Sat Sep 25, 2010 12:00 am

With all the negative threads here dissecting every bit of speculation for possible shortcommings, I thought it would be healthy to have at least one positive-thinking thread once in a while. So what confirmed features of Skyrim are you most excited about? For example, I am most excited about (in reverse order of awesomeness):

  • Hand-made environments and dungeons by 8 people (undisputeable number one).
  • No more classes and, as such, abuse of power-leveling.
  • Proper attention to fixing level-scaling.
  • Dual-wield.
  • The fact that you need a free hand to cast a spell, and you can go for both free hands for an additional benefit. This way, you can't do it all as doing magic effectively incurs some prices.
  • Enchanting is back and smithing is included.
  • Better vanilla spells, both visually and gameplay-wise.
  • Possible interesting customization options due to perks.

The AI-system.
The unique environments.
The combat.
Fall forest (it looks so beautiful in the screenshot!)

Is 'everything' an option?

The wait is the only thing I've found to be negative about and even it has its good sides.

The fact that everything is hand crafted. Todd mentioned that even the major areas have sub areas with unique geographic features. Nothing is randomly generated!
The cities look far more real. The art direction is way above the sterility of Oblivion.

Better physics
Better mountains
Real snow
Real weather
Better faces and no dialogue zooming
The rugged environment
Dwemer ruins
and no Gamebryo!

Skyrim will surely look as complex and detailed as real life for me when I try DA2 this weekend...for what I've saw (and read), it looks like CRAP.

Everything really. I <3 OB, still play it regularly today. I've never played a game with that kind of shelf life.

The only bad thing (that I am hoping does happen) is that Skyrim will make me not want to play OB anymore. :hubbahubba:

The single feature I am most excited to see is the Creation Kit! :)

I know the game will be Awesome with sauce, and I don't think I could put my finger on a single point that I'm looking forward to more than others (maybe Dragons!), but given I've spent the last 3 years just about Living in the GECK, I'm Very excited to see what the new CK will be like.

EVERYTHING!!!!!!! Now i am a real UN-positive kind. You can say im somewhere in between Unpositve and Emo. But this game is just too positive!

Like ussually i would be worrying about the game much. But Todd has pretty much had interviews that Adoring fan'd my unpositivites off'of dive rock! (Yes unpositivites is a word!) Im mostly interested in the new fighting system tough :starwars: and the :violin: 's I was getting sick of killing the bards in Assassins creed >:D Plus in this i might even try it!

EMOTICONS FTW.

USING AN ENTIRE PAGE FOR THIS FTW
