Hey, I got Fallout New Vegas on presale a while ago and haven't been able to play it once.
After hitting "New Game" The opening cinematic loads, I see an image of a moon and the game crashes. The time before crash varies between instantaneous crash, and half a second. Is there a patch coming to fix this issue, or is there a way I can fix it myself?

Failure to run cinematics is rather typically due to codec conflicts on the host machine, not any need for a patch.

If you have any graphics card monitoring software running try un installing it, what have you got to loose?
Worked for me on my Nvidia cards.

Having very similar problems with my Geforce 9800 GT. I can get past the cinematic, but then generally get a white screen with black flashes or odd graphical errors like textures from the game are covering up the screen only flat.
