I want to say a thing to Bethesda

Post » Mon Sep 27, 2010 12:07 am

Hi, I joined this forum only to say a thing (english is not my language, I will try to be as clear as possible).

You did an EXCELLENT work with the official trailer.

From the music to the scenes to the choice to pick the great Von Sydow.

And I want to thank you because EVERY time I watch this trailer, I feel a strong emotion and a chill down my spine.

You need to know I'm not a fan of the Fantasy genre (books, games, whatever), and still.. from the day I've seen this trailer I can say I've never wanted a game in my hands so badly.
Even some friends of mine not very fond of this rpg genre, have been quite impressed.

Looking forward to play this great HERO against the evil. Dovahkiin.. even the name is awesome
.

So, here some remarks from a different kind of gamer you have been able to capture into the Elder Scrolls realm. What I liked the most:

- The narrator voice: I love Von Sydow in "the Seventh Seal" so it's a 10 easily.

- The music: words are not enough, a number could be: 10.

- The main character: you have been able to made me love a fur armor, that's incredible. You made an amazing job with him, the voice when he yells at the dragon, the yell itself, the posture when he stands over the beast at the end is simply gorgeous and so the way he raises from the ground in flames after he felt down.. so much win in total, long story short: he spells epicness to me. 10 ([censored] laude)

- The landscapes are simply stunning, noteworthy the scene when the dragon fly over that wonderful valley at the end. 10

I wish I could explain better my points but my english is bad as hell.

So Bethesda folks, thank you again, keep up the nice work and good luck with the release, I think it will be a glorious day for you and us both.

Yeah, that trailer was one of the best in-engine trailers I've seen in a very long time. (By the way, your English is a lot better than many native speakers I've seen on the internet, so there's no need to worry about that :) )

The trailer, of course, is wrong. Everyone knows the Dovahkiin is an Argonian. That Nord dude is an impostor.

Just look at the number of views and likes on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JSRtYpNRoN0

Almost 1 million views.
Not far from 20 000 likes.
And in such a short amount of time...

That's A LOT for a trailer. I think it shows how hyped people are about this game. Oblivion was huge. Skyrim is going to be massive in terms of reception and attention it will get.

Couldn't agree more. They called Oblivion "Next generation game", but I really think Skyrim earns the title (even before we've actually seen anything or head anything meaningful).

I can absolutely not wait for this to come out, thinking of pre-ordering sometime around the beginning of the next school year.

I believe he is in fact a Breton, where people get this 'Nord' from is beyond me...

So a 14 page world exclusive and a 3 minute in game trailer isn't "meaningful"? Lol...

@OP
Well said! It's interesting to see a non-fan reaction to the trailer, and I bet Bethesda are very pleased with how it's been received in general. :goodjob:

@ OP: It's nice to see people who are new/newish to RPG's make such comments
It shows how popular this game will be,and also shows bethesda are going the right way with the info we recieve.
The snowball has started rolling, and there is no stopping it :)

It WAS next generation. There was no other game at the time that looked as good as Oblivion in a big open world environment.

Excuse me? You too, sir, are an imposter...
He's a Khajiit! How dare you make the mistake of mistaking between the two Beast Races!!
