First, while I read plenty of times about the White and Red Towers, I hardly can find more precise information them and their roles. From what I gather, the Towers acts as barriers between Mundus and Oblivion. The White Tower, or White Gold Tower, act as one of these, the events of an emperor dying and the Dragonsfire not burning making this barrier fall. The Red Tower would be the Red Mountain, with what maintaining the barrier in this case being the heart of Lorkhan. Also, from what I could understand, each province has one of these towers and something maintaining the barrier, probably all related to Aedric gods, the Dragonsfire and the Amulet of Kings to Akatosh and the heart of Lorkham, well to himself. Again from what I could understand, it is from the fall of the Red Tower that enabled the death of the emperor (the breaking of a second barrier, the White Tower) to be the last needed for Oblivion to open itself in Mundus. So what I would like to know, is if these are accurate and if the other Towers and divinities linked to them (if they are all related) what/where are they? We only need to bring two barriers down for Oblivion gates to be possible?
It's been some time since I went through Oblivion's main quest, but another thing I'm wondering, is if Mehrunes Dagon is really dead or just cast out in Oblivion. And since there is no more Dragonsfire, can the White Tower still act as barrier to protect Nirn from Oblivion? Is this even relevant? Did something happened that no more Oblivion gates can be opened or it's just because no other Daedric lord would do any harm to the people of Tamriel?
And I have one last question in relation of the Shivering Isles expansion. Ok, I don't really remember if there is some kind of barrier after the Oblivion crisis, but the Shivering Isles gate being open and you being able to enter Sheogorath's plane should mean there's no more barrier right? And since Dagon is dead(?) and Sheogorath retook his role of Jyggalag shouldn't mean Sheogorath to not exist anymore? Or something happened that makes it necessary for you to take the place?
That's pretty much all my questions, thanks.
