How are we going to be able to play with no servers? Are there official servers?

I've been wondering the same thing. I'm considering ordering a game server for Brink, but without any more details than the limited FAQ I can't pull the trigger.

"A quick update on where we're at with the dedicated server files: There's a last-minute technical issue that we're working hard to fix. As soon as that's out of the way, the files will be made available (and that's still going to be today). It's also likely that we'll be patching the server shortly after release, but we want to get it out there as quickly as possible to allow you to configure your servers and get them ready for the carnage."

Better have the servers running properly, instead of having faulty files.

True, but to be fair this should have been done even earlier. I can't imagine going gold and not having working server files for a primarily multiplayer-based game.

At least it's getting done today.

this is sad.. they had all weekend to fix/release the server files and here we are hours before release an nothing? server files should be released before pre-load..

honestly i had wanted to setup a dedicated server but looks like i changed my mind and no longer motivated to do so... guess i'll spend my time actually playing the game. good luck to anyone that manages to get a server running before the game is released
