Why does Helseth Remain King?

It's because you make a baseless comment. Try backing up more of your "observations" with evidence.

This entire thread is a compilation of such.

The ashlanders didn't make the prophecies up; they received them, presumably from Azura. But then they conveniently "lost" some of the prophecies and twisted the meaning of the others. But you don't make up prophecies. Unless you're MK.

So, Azura gave them to the Ashlanders? So the prophecies belong to the Ashlanders. So they're Ashlander, go figure.

The fact that an unarmed missionary who "couldn't escape from his shirt" was sent to Molag Amur, and made it there with minimal trouble, suggests that the Legion could have easily gone to the same camp and wiped them out if they needed. The legion is not confined to small areas around their forts.

That seems to presume either all missionaries wear heavy armor and carried military supplies, or all legions simply wear robes and take a few potions with them. A missionary could make it through the treacherous regions, yes. I don't think a legion could have. Who've probably never been in a more treacherous and hostile region.

Remember that Morrowind makes its own laws, not the Empire. And if they did, according to you, they wouldn't have been able to do anything about it.

Umm, surpression of the Cult was just simply another potential inconvienience solved for the empire. I doubt the saints and the emperors back in Cyrodiil actually cared a marshmerrow about how many Nerevarines were killed.

Personally, I think that they received orders not to attack them somewhere along the line, in order to pave the way for the Blades' plans.

Yes, of course. Becuase Caius knew exactly what he was doing 100% of the time, didn't he?

Technically, we don't know where the prophecies originated from. Only that they're authentic. But they were given by a daedric prince, so they're daedric.

Don't forget, the legion sends one of their own to the camp. If they can send one, they can probably send twenty.

Actually, he did. He got all his orders from the coded package. He merely misinterpreted the Emperor's intentions at first.

And as I said before, most thought the Nerevarine prophecies were just harmless superstition, not caring one way or another, and they couldn't interfere with the Temple. And I doubt they'd care about supressing a cult when they're ending the threat of Dagoth Ur.

Hmm. Either way, the prophecies exist. Daedric or ashlander. I don't think the empire would be wholly accepting of any form of Daedric prophecies, either.

Perhaps. But stranded, in an alien land, outnumbered by both monsters and professional extreme survivors... We could carry on this pedantic listing, but let's not.

Caius leaves before you begin to unite the clans and begin to walk the full path. I don't think you were part of some master plan of the Blades, or the Emperor, both of whom were infidel to the machinations of the Daedric princes.

And I doubt they'd care about supressing a cult when they're ending the threat of Dagoth Ur.

Not really, becuase the Tribunal Temple never communicated the real threat of Dagoth Ur to the Empire. It was obviously known, but only the higher clergy and masters really knew what the danger was I beleive, and even then, the true history and nature of it all was known purely to the 4 gods and Azura.

It didn't stop a wimpy unarmed preacher.

The plan was to fulfill the prophecies. I believe Uriel knew about the threat of Dagoth Ur, which is partially why he wanted to have the prophecies fulfilled.

Maybe becuase he didn't aim to kill every Ashlander he saw.

The Imperials had no idea what they were doing. Some significant hints arose from Spore Dreams, some Mythic Dawn advisors spurred the Emperor on, and then Cyrodiil's agencies played a game of Telephone leading from the very top all the way to Sellus Gravius.

Caius Cosades didn't know much of the province he was in, because such things are nearly impossible for a man of his position. Hasphat Antabolis and Nibani Maesa provided the knowledge that the Nerevarine translated into action.

Dagonites helped start the chain? Still, that doesn't vindicate claims that Dagonites influenced the Nerevarine's progress to any substantial degree.

Well, we hear that the Imperials were duped somewhere along the line, and that seems a logical place for their input.

Although on second thought, the whole thing may have beena figure of speech. Blowback for sure, but not manufactured by the cultists, only applauded and exploited by them. It seems impossible that they could be that far-seeing, and it trivializes the Nerevarine's accomplishments.

Is that the only reason? Is it a only coincedence that the Nerevarine also strengthened the Empire's hold on Morrowind?

He/she may have strengthened the hold briefly, but I think with the Oblivion Crisis, the late Empire is back to square one. Morrowind is probably just as autonomous as before, and maybe more so.

All the (former) provinces are probably trying to pick up the pieces after the Crisis, and since Tamriel doesn't have a history of parliaments or constitutions, they're probably half-wishing for another man on a white horse to come along and take charge. I don't think it's certain that he will show up.

I don't any compelling reason to think this.

Thanks, Ted. Those were good days for the RP. Hopefully the Lore forum will learn more about this new Fourth Era during the next TES game.

(And I should give Loranna the credit for the statements on the younger generation of Dres.)

Since I've taken to swinging in here every four months or so, I appreciate that you've kept up mentioning of the Loranna RP. Yea, though it may be buried, as we predicted it would be when the RP forum started, there were a lot of gems therein. And more than a handful of stuff that eventually filtered into official lore.

You know, necromancy isn't really cool, especially when it's a thread that ended ~2 years ago.
