Sure Modern warfare 3. Where's Skyrim?

Post » Tue Oct 05, 2010 7:47 am

I live in Mexico, and here there are barely any "gamers" here that know what Oblivion or Skyrim is. Sure on XBL there are trailers and sht about Dragon age 2. Instead of Skyrim they replace it with Dragon age 2! And I live in a school full of annoying [censored] cod [censored] saying Modern Warfare 3 is super hardcoe. I say it's way too overrated.

We shall discuss why Skyrim is better/not better than Modern Warfare 3. And this is for the people up for debate. I hate cod imo, and prefer Battlefield. Please don't spam with comments saying they're 2 completely different games.

Skyrim is a game that contains the soul and sweat of the developers, Modern Warfare 3 is a cash making machine, nothing more. True gamers should know the difference between half assed games and absolute masterpieces

I personally prefer TES (hence why I'm on the forums) just because it lets me be who I want to be and there are no whiny 12 year olds. But Cod is good in its own way because it allows you to play online with friends.

Look up a satire game called "Duty Calls" and share it with your buddies, even if it's just a play-thru movie on Youtube or something. It's a bit of an ad for Bulletstorm, but it still gives the Call of Duty franchise a badly needed skewering.

What the hell??? Skyrim cant be compared to a linear first person shoter without rpg... With a LOT of hype!

If we are going to compare similar games, i prefer Battlefield before Call Of Duty.

I completely agree... Battlefield FTW!

I wasn't even aware of Modern Warfare 3 being developed... nor do I care. They're all the same now. What is it, like the 17th game in the series? They might as well call it COD17 or something ridiculous...

Call of Duty is a game. Battlefield is a different game. Skyrim is an even more different game.

i don't get why these arguments come up. Call of Duty vs. Battlefield? yeah. Call of Duty vs. Skyrim? they're NOTHING ALIKE and are not comparable in ANY WAY.

fun fact: fantasy RPGs are still niche as [censored].

Battlefield or COD both does not interest me whatso ever both being for my boring as well as uninspired and just another FPS; No really worth my time. And yes they are overated but to answer your question DA2 are only having commercials because it is about to be released while Skyrim is still months away so it is understandable that not to many people are aware of it with the people on these forums being in limited numbers. The hype train is still building and come E3 you may have people at any school looking forward to it as more become away.

Besides FPS's and RPG's are hardly relatable to really compare the two.

Not too sure if this is a versus thread, if so it may get locked.
Also it seems more about COD with just a vague reference to Skyrim.

All that said, TeS is a major leader in the RPG world.
That means only close to release does it get the main stream attention.
Before and after it gets the long running or fresh fans, the two can't compete in numbers at all.

Fantasy gaming is a genre among a genre, fantasy roleplaying adds another genre to that.
So simply Skyrim is a big fish in an ocean, made up of lots of FPS, sims and sports gamers, it will never have the pull of other games.

Well, they are two different games. Very different. And, this is essentially a versus thread, which are against the rules, so it's time for a lock.
