Sony's Next Console Is In Development

Post » Wed Oct 06, 2010 2:14 pm

I wouldn't buy any of the new consoles until they dropped in Price. Why bother investing more money into a new system when my current 360 can play a whole bunch of amazing games not to mention that I'll be adding on to that list later on this year. I think this is something that Sony and Microsoft need to look at, they need to make sure that this new console is hit out of the ballpark. I'm not saying it needs to be better then what PC is but it needs to be an upgrade both tech wise and dependability wise from what it currently is right now. Sony for damn sure needs their console to be more hackproof then it currently is right now.

Pft. I hear the price tag for the NGP would be upwards of $300. Sony hasn't learned a thing. I say fire the entire top employees and hire some new people,

I just saw a report on IGN today saying Sony is going to cut the RAM from 512mb to 256mb to keep the cost down.

Source, I'm not finding it.

Edit
So far nothing but an unsubstantiated rumor so I doubt it.

I was talking about the NGP, not PS4.

Sony said that they have learned about the price tag.

They clearly don't listen to Jessie J.

Agreed, the transition between the PS2 and PS3 svcked. Removing the PS2 BC from the PS3 was idiotic. Hopefully the PS4 will be backwards compatible with the PS1, PS2 and PS3 during it's whole lifetime.

i hope for the same, my original ps3 got overheated two years ago, and i was disappointed that my new slim version couldnt run any ps1 or ps2 games

RAM is dirt cheap, isn't it? Plus, of all the things to cut, half of the very limited to begin with RAM seems like a bad idea, in my opinion.

Slims can play PS1 games, just not PS2 games.

All models of PS3, Slim and all, play PS1 games.

i hope they do a much better job of future proofing this time around. if they dont have 2GB or more RAM at a minimum they are set to repeat the same mistakes they did last time around with the PS3 and 360. and microsoft better have a hard disk on their next version as well as start using blu-ray like everyone else.
