Morag Tong vs. Dark Brotherhood

Post » Sat Oct 09, 2010 12:38 am

The question I was referring to was the one about the Dark Brotherhood being in the game.

Oh, ok. My bad. -_-

I would hope both MT and DB would be present in the game as two guilds at war spices things up.
However, MT probably wouldn't be legal outside the Dunmer city so like DB, they would have to use stealth to kill (do remember that they were active through entire Tamriel and they probably weren't legal anywhere but in Morrowind either).

Also, I think I recently read somewhere in the Imperial Library how MT did act in Skyrim as well so it wouldn't be that weird for them to move their base there.

I prefer Morag Tong over the Dark Brotherhood. I'd like Skyrim to have both and/or something new.

DB hopefully. MT won't operate outside of its territory will it?

I prefer the Dark Brotherhood, but I'd rather have them both. I'd like as many rival factions as possible, and preferably one can't join them both in one single playthrough.

Well if there be such battle i guess i ll join Morag Tong...in Morrowind they kill with the license, but in Skyrim it is impossible,so they be illegal just like the Dark Brotherhood...and they are not THIS religious...dont do it or Sithis will punish you  !!! Seriously, that was lame! I want a guild of professional coldblooded killers, assassination must be there job not a religious ritual! :verymad:

For the record, after a bit of research I found there is an area in Skyrim called Winterhold, that would make a perfect breeding ground for escaping Tong members. Check it out.

The Morag Tong worship Mephala, even if you don't see it as much as the DB worship Sithis. One of Mephala's quests in Morrowind is to kill a Tong member who's been killing people without approved writs so, even though you might not see it, they are. "Behave or Mephala will punish you!"

I'd rather have the Morag Tong as they are the more cold assassins than the fanatical cult killing for their god...

but they probably don't exist in a large context anymore considering what happedn to the Dunmer homeland

Both, but the names don't matter, could be something new. Point is having two similar factions in opposition creating tension and forcing player to make a choice. If Morag Tong has a boring questline for being legalized, then maybe they should be the one having the best services and rewards? But joining one excludes you from the other. But not only for the assassination guilds, but for all the normal guilds.

Some people would prefer being mercenaries for more then one guild. Unless it would make no sense to be able to join guild C and guild O, both should be joinable. TES is all about freedom and letting the player write the story rather then the opposite.

Are the Morag Tong even alive after Red Mountain went Boom? My pick is the Brotherhood.

I know, but they arent THAT religious,in Oblivion DB was a bunch of crazy religious fanatics IMO.

id like to see both. i just hope that they make the dark brotherhood in skyrim more professional and less goofy than in oblivion.

people keep posting that the morag tong werent any good because they just handed out writs...........thats only a last resort. in fact, you lost bonuses if you were caught by anyone just like the DB.

I think Morag Tong should have like 5 quests but, their hard quests that you must plan out.... Like break in to one of the provinces princes mansion which is unseen and steel the royal amulet of Azura? < Don't know about whoo to put their......

But Dark Brotherhood should have smaller quests than big ones every once and awhile....

Also i believe they should be split up in the world of Skyrim..... Like DB is on the south east side but is in 75% of skyrim and Morag Tong is in the North West Side and their land is only 30% of skyrim..... They do war over the 5%...

umm this whole quest idea u have dose not go with morag tong. the morag tong are a group of legal assassins not thiefs that would fall under the thiefs guild
i would like both tho to be in the game

So which do you think will come back? I personally have a sneaking suspicion that Morag Tong will return, but it could easily be the Dark Brotherhood again. Even more, it could possibly be both.

What are your thoughts?
Well, in oblivion Morag Tong had better equipment. The mehrunes razor DLC quest. At level 20 the Morag Tong prisoner's armor is AMAZING!

Well i think people want Bethesda to make it so joining both guilds wouldn't make sense.

i don't really think theres that big of a chance to see the Morag Tong. they were already stationed primarily in morrowind. i don't have a problem with them spreading into skyrim, but i have a feeling they got hit pretty hard when the Argonian's invaded Morrowind. so i guess we'll see if they can recover 200 years later, or disappear into history

It would be nice to have an alternative for the Dark Brotherhood for my sneaky archer character.
