Quuatum foam was somewhat explained in Michael Crichton's Timeline. Not sure if the explanation made it into the film version, but you could watch it and see.

dunno if this applies directly to the half full/empty debate, but it's certainly gonna be my motto of the month.

everything I do in life is based on trying to look cool in front of the aliens who will eventually take over this planet, and belonging to a country that buys the Shake Weight tells a completely different story than belonging to a country that laughs at it.
