Favorite Nerf Guns or Products

Post » Sun Oct 17, 2010 10:15 am

I have a few Nerf N Strike guns like:

1: Nerf Valcan: A belt feed like machine gun. I like this gun but it's a little heavy.

2: Nerf Mavirck: A Revolver type gun with great accuracy but skips every now and then.

3: Nerf Deploy: Another decent firing gun but jams easily.

4: Nerf Longstrike: Probably the best shooting rifle I have right now.

Anyway these are my favoites anybody else have there's?

Could you explain the appeal of Nerf guns over something like Paintball or Airsoft guns? I never understood why people would want to play with Nerf when they could use paintballs.

I never been paintballing but I always wanted to. I got nothing aginst paintballing probably buying paintballs and CO2 cartages or containers (but that's a minor gripe). Only thing I like about the Nerf guns is that I can reuse my darts. As for airsoft nothing aginst that either. Simply I think it's just each to there own  .

I have some Nerf swords. They're fun as hell and sting like it too. Totally worth it.

Paintballing is a rather expensive sport, but I like it a lot. To each his own, Nerf deffinately has the cost advantage. It's easy to drop $80+ a day paintballing.

I have all three actually...well...four...

I've got several airsoft guns, several BB guns, paintball and Nerf guns.

Honestly, I like the Airsoft guns but they are expensive. But, I like any Nerf gun that is NStrike and has the clip system. My son has a lot more than I do but I've got the Recon CS6 and one of the very first NStrike guns that uses suction cup darts (that one I never use) the CS6 I keep in the living room either behind or next to my recliner. This way, I can load it and shoot my son in his room. It's got one 6 round mag in the stock, two 6 round mags clipped together on the table next to me and a 35 round drum in it. I've been meaning to mod the darts with straws but haven't gotten around to it yet.

My daughter finds it entertaining too. Shes 15 months. She likes to take it apart and giggles when you shoot her with it.

I have a CS6 that Ive taken the air restrictor out of, the pistol with a laser pointer that I've done the same to, and the Vulcan. My brother got a pump one that fires really fast and uses a clip, can't think of the name for it though.

Its too bad that they don't make them like they used to, where the only limit was how long you were willing to pump it up for.

I have this one, my son has the semi auto Barricade RV-10... he gets the firepower, I get the accuracy ;)

My son is five, and we battle inside my house?
Airsoft guns are illegal here.

It's called target practice :whisper:

Accuracy will always win over firepower. A gun no matter what kind, can be as powerful as it can be, but worthless if you can't aim it B).

And yet, he obtains a cyclic firing rate over roughly sixty shots per minute.. (two seconds to empty the weapon)

..which is intimidating as hell when you're desperately trying to work the action on the mavrick -or worse reloading it :banghead: and all manner of incoming fire is distracting you.

war is hell :cold:

I've been thinking of doing that on mine. Only thing is, I'm not sure how to take the gun apart nor do I know what all the parts are.

I never understood the appeal of Nerf. I always thought it was childs toy (no offense). I like paintball much better.
The only time I've ever used Nerf guns was an epic midnight war in the house...until that lamp broke.

Its not terribly hard. There are several guides floating about on the internet. All you really need is a screwdriver and some pliers.

It's less costly to be bad at Nerf.

This, and as stated before you can fight indoors...well, maybe not in my box of a house :P

I like the Maverick, its simple, accurate and if you put the darts that come with the vulcan in it you can hit targets farther away than most nerf guns. One downfall is the reload time which is why my friend has 2 so you can defend yourself with one while frantically reloading the other.

I also have the Vulcan but its too cumbersome for CQB and rate of fire (since mine isnt moded) is pretty slow.

And as for the Longshot, mine always jams and the darts get torn up in the chamber when I try to unjam it in a heated battle. I think something was always just wrong with mine because my friend's never has an issue

I will agree the Vulcan is rather bulky for CQC but it's stringths is in suppresive fire and base defence. One has to look at the Vulcan like the real world counterparts (Light Machine Guns), real Life military uses LMG's all the time and they use them for CQC and/or suppresive fire and base defence...they also have squads surrounding the LMG'er. The draw back to using such weapons (leathal or not) is that it makes you a primary target for the enemy :P .

My Longshot can jam from time time but my Deploy is almost as bad. It seems to shorten the darts lifespan. If a dart is firm then it fires them ok but once they get a little ware on them, then the Deploy starts to jam up, so I have to be careful sometimes. Usally I can feel when a dart's is going to jam just by pumping the gun. Other then that I like all my Nerf blasters.
