any sign of a multiplayer

Post » Mon Oct 25, 2010 11:17 am

right first of all this is just a thought please can no one rant with hate about how bad it would be
yet if people want to express themselves against the idea in a calm way then i will take it into consideration :)
all im saying is that i personally would feel that a simple "friends joining your world" idea would complete such a perfect sounding game for me

Doubt there will be any kind of multiplayer. Trying to completely synchronize the game world between two players, which includes the location of every fired arrow, every dropped coin, and every NPC plus their schedules, is going to be very difficult. There would also need to be some way to keep the players fairly close, or the game needs to process two completely different areas at once. And considering that Bethsda is primarily a single player game developer, I doubt they have anyone with real networking experience.

The devs have said this is a single player game only, and that won't be changing.

ok fair enough i suppose due to tradition and the somplications of synchronisation of two players and the entire world they wouldve had to have detracted things from the other areas of the game

The official thread is only locked due to post limit. A new one will have to wait for a mod to start it , I suppose, seems like flogging a dead horse though.

I forget, I'd have to check around.

Pretty sure it came from Todd though.
