I've been having some problems with New Vegas. Last night, I started up New Vegas and was immediately prompted to update. Thinking it was the new patch, I accepted and started to play. I then went to the wiki to view the patch notes, and noted that a few things mentioned in the patch (such as the amount of HP Nuka-Cola is supposed to replenish and Pew-Pew's clip size) were not applied to my game. I have no idea what "patch" I updated with.
Fallout 3 also updates constantly, despite the fact that the last patch was released in 2009. Oblivion updated last night as well, and I know that definitely isn't supposed to happen, as the last patch was released in 2007.
I've done some research and have come to the conclusion that clearing the cache may help, but.. my question is, what's causing this issue? And will clearing the cache and re-applying the updates screw up New Vegas? I've been very, very lucky (knock on wood) when it comes to glitches and bugs; Both Fallout 3 and New Vegas have been relatively glitch and bug free for me, save for a few minor incidents.
Thanks in advance.
