sign our weapons and armors

i just thought about an idea that could be interesting

wouldn't it be great if we were able to sign the weapons and armors we make in the game??

like including a rune or a symbol
( for example : in the movie " a knight's tale" an armor is signed with the "nike" symbol" )

since we will be able to watch all items in 3D in different angles it would be fun to see our sign on the item

and now think of this :

you make an weapon and/or armor, you sign it , you sell it and later you fight an ennemy and beat him,
you loot his body and..... what do wee see?? our sign on his weapon/armor!!!!!
( of course npc's have to be able to buy items on their own in the first place)

i think that would be nice to implement in the game.

or an other idea

since a random event possibility is a npc duelling you because your good at using magic or a sword
what about npc's knowing your good at smithing wanting you to make a weapon/armor for them

what do you think about that??

sorry if my english is not perfect

it is a interesting way of making money, but can't really say that it is going to happen until we know the extent of making weapons in skyrim

Hoepfully there are a good amount of quests favoured to every skill especially the non-combat ones like Smithing, Alchemy, Persuasion and Mercantile.

I voted yes on all the options. Its, to me, a pretty cool idea. I like the idea of being able to make a claymore and hear about a Nord who chooped an enitre family in half on the other side of the province.

But as koreankracker said, I dont know what the Devs would think about that and if theyd go through the trouble of putting into the actual game. Cool idea though

Yeah all that would be sweet, but I don't know if the devs will spend the time to do it.

That would probably add about 100+hours to my playtime if crafted weapons I made could actually gain history like that.

I just knew that was going to be the inspiration for this

I don't know about signing weapons and armor, but I like the other ideas. We know smithing is in as a skill so we already can sell any weapons and armor we make, and the npcs asking you to make them something (perhaps when you have a high skill in smithing and are somewhat famous so they would know to ask you to do it) could possibly be integrated into the radiant quests. They can't all be simple fetch quests can they? At the very least it would be wasted potential for role play.
