Stuck with two mods

Hello

I've been playing different mods and things for a long time now, never had any real problems (except for the obvious once-in-a-while crashes) but now I'm facing a problem I can't overcome.

The two mods that are causing problems for me are Tears of the Fiend (first part of it - Legacy) and Verona House Bloodlines. Both have been absolutely awesome mods so far, but in both of these mods there is a part where every single item from my inventory is removed by script (quest items and everything). I get all my items back fine, all the bonuses and enchantmens and everything works just fine, but as soon as I try to save my game after retrieving the items my game instantly crashes and the save game becomes corrupt. If I save the game right before or even when I have no items everything works fine, game doesn't crash, but the moment after I get the items back it's impossible to play on, beacuse the game crashes whenever I save the game (full save, quicksave or autosave, doesn't matter).

I've looked all around the internet but I have found no ways of fixing it.

Does anyone know a way around this? Is there perhaps a way for me to prevent the game from unequipping my items? Or perhaps anyone knows the console command to skip those stages of the quest (I know there are commands, but I'm not familiar with construction set and I haven't found any on the internet).

1) The very end of Legacy, before you meet the Fiend is one part - I would just need the code to complete Legacy, so I could continue with the Butcher of Armindale
2) The second (or third?) part of Verona House bloodlines, when you have to gamble and you get in debt and have to go hand-to-hand fighting in the basemant. It would be fine just to finish that part of the questline, or advance me far enough to skip that whole stage of it, so I could continue with the rest of the storyline.

Sets the current stage of a quest

Quest stages can be found on each individual quest page. First, select the quest you want to change in your journal. Use the SQT command to see the quest id, then use the getstage command to see the stage. Usually you add or subtract 10 to change the stage, but there are exceptions.'

If you want to be sure about the stage, open the relevant esp in the CS. You can find the quest dialogue under Characters > Quests in the main menu.

Does going to jail you the same problem? If so, it's probably a specific item in your inventory that causes an issue when it's forcibly removed this way - maybe a variant of the permanent enchantment glitch.

Well, updating the quest does work for Verona House bloodlines, I just skipped that part of the quest and now I can continue as if nothing had happened.

As for Legacy.. well.. that quest is apparently much more complicated script-wise. I completed the quest, but none of the NPCs seem to recognize this. So a new problem arouse - how do I make the NPCs recognize that the quest has been completed? I found the topics in CS for the final dialogue with Allecia after the quest has been completed, but I have found no ways of setting those topics on her, found no commands on UESP about assigning a certain topic on an NPC, or advancing the conversation by console, is this possible? As there are three quests connected with each other, I would really need for the next events to be triggered.
Right now I'm just stuck, Allecia doesn't give me the keys, and the dream that is supposed to occur for Butcher of Armindale to continue with it, doesn't occur either..

Any ideas?

All depends on how keen you are to resolve this. Using setstage is, as I understand it, risky and a last resort measure. TOTF may well be a mod where you shouldn't use it especially if heavily scripted. As to the items, it's most likely a quest related item and/or something with a script attached. Do you use a mod that lets you move/drop quest items? If so try disabling it. If you haven't already done so check the readme and guide - both mention CTD issues under certain circumstances. Finally there is apparently TOTF threads at elderscrolls.com.forums.
