diablo 3 concerns

I don't know but this skill tree seems a little lacking?

premature worries maybe..Just doesnt look like it would allow for endless "aka 3-4 cookie cutter" skill tree combinations.

Well in Diablo 2 every character had access to three skill trees, perhaps in Diablo 3 skill trees are smaller but you have access to more of them.

This is just idle speculation, I haven't been following it's developement closely. I didn't want to get wrapped up until all of the classes had been unveiled and now that they have been, and none catch my eye, I've mostly ignored it.

I like that the followers are customizable :3
Maybe Diablo 3 focuses more on team play, even if you're by yourself.
If you're able to adjust the skills your follower uses, that'd excuse a smaller personal skillset?

I think runes play a lot into this. Runes get socketed to your skills, changing them dramatically. You can actually see the runes in that screenshot. I think there's somewhere around 6 runes. So take the number of skills you see there and multiply them by 6. The only difference is you can change the skill by swapping out runes instead of being restricted by what you choose per level.

Blizzard has enormous shoes to fill with D3 to me, I'm just not sure it'll live up to a game I still love and play 10 years later.

Isn't that, instead of the actual tree, just a summer 2010 prototype of the skill list with runestones?
Anyway, from what we've heard of the latter recently, those will affect the gameplay much more than just those runes from the second game. I like this very much.

My only concern right now is that the game looks very shoddy on screenshots. I've seen it in motion with my own eyes, and it's way better. Don't know what causes this, honestly.

Yeah that can't be an actual entire tree. It's way too skimpy.

Starcraft 2 (story wise) certainly didn't. Its the consequence of developing a game while the human mind develops and matures.

I think that is mostly because it's just one of the episodes, story-wise. Splitting the game wasn't really a good idea for the flow, no matter how much a variety the missions provided.

After StarCraft 2, I'm willing to just trust Blizzard and let them get on with it. Looking at the picture though, the lock with the number 26 on suggests there are 26 more unlockable skills, which sounds like plenty to me.

That's the number of skill points you need to distribute to fill that slot with another skill. I think that functionally won't have changed from last year.

Good point...i'm probably also being a tad biased as I was very dedicated to starcraft's storyline.

I spent 5 years drawing out fan art and writing fan fiction for the starcraft universe. I was so enveloped in it, that when it came to blizzards actual rendition of where the story left off, i was completely disappointed.

I used to draw Diablo comics too...but they were more humorous and left very little room for storytelling and character development. I did enjoy drawing out sweet armor though :)

Oh, so this screen doesn't show us how many skills there are at all? So what's the concern?
