Does anyone know how to gain reputaiton with the powder gangs???

i really need help so i can do the quest i fought the law because i am vilified with the powder gang

I don’t know for sure because I became hostile with them pretty early, but you might try going to the prison and talking to whoever is in charge. I don’t remember them being hostile the first time I went there, but I could be wrong. Try wearing their gear. I think the gaurd at door had a speach check or something.

Once you're vilified it can't be done.


I have done quite a few plays of the game up to Novac and decided I didn't like the way my toon was designed, then I would start a new game. In all these restarts, I've noticed that I become vilified to the powder gangsters If I shoot back at any attacking powder gangsters, after becoming vilified in my very first game.

What I do now, is run by any attacking powder gangsters without returning fire and take the, 'I fought the law' quest from Eddie. I make sure I don't shoot at any powder gangsters until I'm on the last part of the quest heading to Primn. Then I return fire because I don't plan on siding with them.

All it takes is killing one or up to four powder gangsters to become vilified if you were vilified in a prior playing of the game. Starting a new game or loading the auto save makes no difference.

Are there no more PG quests after ur done with the NCR raid on the prison?
Seems kinda short-lived for such a big gang in the wastes.

There's one quest you can do in Vault 19 to gain a little bit of reps for the PG. The Vault 19 PG wouldn't be KoS to you even if you are KoS to the outside PG. Having said that, if you are vilified to the PG already, doing this one quest wouldn't be enough to take you off KoS status.

I don't think the PG are a big gang at all, they are only a bunch of thugs wouldn't took over the NCRCF and are just spreading out because the NCR just doesn't have the resources to deal with them along with everything else that's going on. The Fiends on the other hand are a much bigger problem, they are well armed and organised and probably the second biggest threat to NV next to the Legions.
