Re-seen characters?

I agree with the KoW being a dissapointment... A COMPLETE dissaster even. Its not him. Its just a random power-hungry Altmer who thinks that by calling himself Mannimarco he will get all Necromancers all "Ooooh, shiny"... And he suceeds which completely destroys the coolness of the necromancers which I have gotten from what little I have read from Daggerfall...

Yeah...

Does anyone know a good mod to make him more realistic and more dangerous? More like he should be?

There's a mod out that makes him look like a Lich. If you read Galerion though, Mannimarco is indeed like the [censored] Altmer we saw in the game. In fact Lorewise there isn't a Necro that isn't a complete [censored], I guess it comes with the whole "I play with dead things and I heart necrophillia" package that accompanies Necromancy.

Beat me to Ocato, Yar-Yulme. I must say I was disappointed to find he hadn't kept his fetching goatee for his Oblivion role.

I'd like to tentatively put forward Jauffre. There is a lot of circumstantial evidence that points towards him being the Great Knight, leader of the Blades, who crops up in conversation once or twice in Daggerfall. That would make him Lady Brisienna's brother... I must say, I was surprised Brisienna never resurfaced after Daggerfall. There's a lot of potential and juicy tidbits about undercover Blade espionage in her history that would have made her an ideal addition to Oblivion.

  • Azura - Daggerfall, Morrowind, Tribunal (only cutscenes).

Actually, you saw Azura in Person at the end of Morrowind and Tribunal. In Morrowind, she'd give you the Ring of Azura and some speech, and in Tribunal, she'd give you some speech as you left Almalexia's palace after finishing in Sotha Sil.

  • Hircine - Daggerfall, Bloodmoon (only summoning cutscenes in Daggerfall).

It still counts! I'm popular! ;)

I always hear the occasional rumour that the ex-Blade you fight in the Arena in Oblivion is Caius Cosades. Seems a bit iffy though.

You could make the case for the sword Umbra being a returning "character". Umbra's supposed to have an identity of its own that eventually subsumes that of it's wielder, right?

Jauffre being the Great Knight? Isnt it possible for the Eternal Champion to be the Great Knight?

I like that better than Jauffre.

Hm. I don't remember what Ria Silmane said at the close of Arena - I only ever finished it once and that was years ago - you could be right. But there were a lot of things about Jauffre/the Great Knight which stuck out to me. He's the right age, retired from an extremely high position in the Blades - after all, his retirement position is Grandmaster of the Order of Talos. It fits that he walked straight into the command position through the success of his previous career. Also, he seems to hint at an unusually close relationship with the Emperor; so much so that Uriel trusted him, and only him, with the secret of Martin's birth. Why would he do that with anyone less than the head of his personal secret service?

But this is all conjecture. I can't think of anyone else carried over from earlier games who hasn't already been named.

Edit: I totally rained the word "position" on this post.

Sure, it could be him...

But then it could perhaps not be him. I think the Bethesda staff likes putting hidden clues all around to make it POSSIBLE that the characters are somewhere in the next game. Or make it POSSIBLE that something could happen like thit or that. But nothing is made SURE by them.

Yes, I think it is very possible. He's gor right age, race, position and appearance.
But it must be noted separatly, as we can't be sure indeed.

Actually, you saw Azura in Person at the end of Morrowind and Tribunal. In Morrowind, she'd give you the Ring of Azura and some speech, and in Tribunal, she'd give you some speech as you left Almalexia's palace after finishing in Sotha Sil.
Yes, I remember. But player controls was disables there, and Azura just played some animation and disappiared, so i counted as cutscenes... Maybe incorrectly.

But I noted it was only cutscenes in Daggerfall :)

Hmm, I doubt: Caius Cosades must be in the Kragenmoor be the time of Oblivion Crisis, IIRC.

Yes, Umbra also must be noted.

Another one special case is Night Mother. It is uncertain if Severa Magia from Morrowind and Night Mother from Daggerfall are somehow related to Night Mother from Oblivion; also for Night Mother from Daggerfall there are noted in UESP that "it is not known whether she exists as actual person in the game".

I highly doubt they were the same, other than their name and race.

Uriel also Appears in Arena and Daggerfal's cutscenes.

And throughout the games, his stylist was undecided on what hair and beard to give him.

http://www.imperial-library.info/sites/default/files/arena_uriel.jpg, he has long hair and a huge beard. (And looks like any clich. royalty from fairy tales)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niU1bRqxrIU, he decided to shave his beard and hair and to get brown-colored hair. (Maybe it was better for his image across the Empire... or because he liked Patrick Stewart's shaved head.)

http://estb.msn.com/i/1C/A04CA8695CED38CC10D0A68502164.jpg, he scrapped that idea and went back to the long gray hair, without the beard though. Returning to his cliché emperor face.

Who knows what he looked like in Morrowind's events?

Oh, yes on topic now.

There are some characters that appear in Bloodmoon who also appear in Oblivion. There are 2 (or 3?) workers from the East Company living in the Imperial City shacks.
