In your opinion, should Bethesda take the "Battlefield 3

Post » Mon Nov 08, 2010 10:44 pm

For anyone that doesn't know, it was stated that Battlefield 3 will be fully optimizing the PC's abilities even though it is cross-platform.

So, I want to know, would you rather Bethesda start with the PC and tone the game down for the consoles like DICE, or start with the consoles and only have slight improvement for PC?

I don't care, but going after consoles could mean more money, but at the same time, it seems like pc users care more about optimization than console users.

Of course we do. We paid a lot more for our PCs to be the very best, so why would we not want that optimized?

I say create games with the pc in mind. Why not make your games the best they can be?

Yeah but most PC users download their games illegally. The game companies aren't grateful just because you bought a nice computer, they don't make any money off that. However I agree that Bethesda should create their games to full extent for each console/ PC but they dont; just look at the PS3.

I feel extremely sorry for PS3 users. Only thing where people really care about you guys would be exclusives, but those are damn good.

As a PC user and basically not a console user (generally), I would definitely appreciate Bethesda optimizing for the PC.

However, I don't know about the unfairness of toning down for consoles. Personally, I think all games should be optimized for whatever they are being put on, but that's not too realistic and I understand why that's not done.

And yet, I think I will conclude with that I do agree and think Bethesda should optimize significantly more for the PC.

I wouldn't say most PC users download their games illegally. And pirating is a problem for consoles too.

Of course I do! >< I have respect for DICE for doing this.

Makes sense. In a way it is an illegal 'try before you buy' service, so rather than not buying something at all because it might svck, you may find out that it's worth your money after all.
