When I shoot all i see are black boxes : Othor Games

started the game up fine
every time i shoot or an explosion goes off, black boxes everywhere.
updated my graphics card and nothing seems to help.
and its not just me, my buddy is having the same problems.
anyone else with the same problem?

Yes! I thought I was the only one lol. I still havn'nt found a fix. Hope this gets solved

*EDIT* I re-installed and updated my graphics drivers and this was solved for me. Might try the same? Not sure what the issue was. I believe it is a missing texture for 'smoke' as it gets worse when grenades goes off. Hope that helps!

maybe ill try that. i did try pre-downloading and it got stopped so that could be the case.
ill give it a shot

Its your graphics card drivers. If you are still having issues, try re-installing an updated version of directX. Steam does this automatically, but if you got it from another source you may have to update.

well deleted and re installed the game and still unplayable. im hoping my friend will figure something out

Did you run direct x.exe from steam/steamapps/common/brink/directx

Its a sound fix, but its something I also tried. I also left the settings on default after my re-install.

I also updated my graphics drivers from the Nvidia site.

I'm kind of frustrated because the game worked fine this morning and now I am getting this issue as well.

If all else fails do a hard reboot. Also did you happen to install a windows update? That always messes things up... i.e. rests settings... roles somethings back... and so on.

Read this: http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1187769-bug-blue-particles/ Even though they are not blue it should still fix it. I was seeing black boxes before I updated my drives then they turned blue.

Did you do anything different for the third install? I just (downloaded and) installed the game again, and I'm getting the same bug, along with new subtle errors in the UI.

me and some other people on the splash damage fourm had the problem, reinstall and that should fix it (by reinstall i mean unistall the game, THEN reinstall, dont just hit the reinstall but if ur using a hard copy)

So if it's on steam hit "delete local content" then redownload everything and install it that way?
