I don't know if this has been covered yet but I was wanting to know if intelligence still governs the amount of skill points you attain when leveling up.

It's been that way in every other Fallout game, don't see why NV would be different.

Yeah, I think this is the case. Since they've been talking quite a bit about ensuring your character can not be a God, I think I remember someone (Sawyer, Avellone, etc.) mentioning that it wouldn't have as much of an impact, so as to stop people from raising Intel up to 10 so they can get loads of skill points.
In fact, I think it could even be the opposite to what Martyr said, as in not there at all. Either I heard it or somehow made it up. Probably made it up. :shrug:

The problem was that the base skill point allotment per level-up was too high, you get like 10 + the INT and Educated bonuses. If it were just lowered to 5, it'd work I think.

What I'm hoping for is plenty of conversation opportunities to run intellectual circles around people.

How so the opposite? To some degree Fallout has always had your INT control how much a skill point boost you get each level.

Well that's good. I didn't like feeling like i had to raise my Intelligence up to 10 just so i can even up my skills to match the leveling of the enemies. My first FO3 character felt like he couldn't hold his own in a fight early on cause i had few skill points and tried to disperse them evenly. And i think i had a Int. of 6.

I doubt intel itself has a lesser effect as it didnt actualy do much in fo3. It was books and bobbleheads and perks that did almost all the skill leveling in fo3.

Huh? You must have missed my point.
You said that since Fallout has always had INT affecting skill point boosts, New Vegas should remain the same. I said that I thought that New Vegas is going a different direction and leaving that out completely.
You said that it will affect skill boosts, I said it wouldn't. Hence the 'opposite'.
Hopefully you get me.
Keep in mind I have zero evidence whatsoever and I'm basing my opinion on some falty memories and recollections. :blush:
