why did everybody misunderstood my six in fo:nv question?

Post » Sat Nov 13, 2010 6:16 am

why i am asking about six and worrying about it more than violence is not for the reasons that you guys think. im asking because i am 16, old enough not to care about six/violence, but young enough for my parents to caree. and i am not asking so i can learn if i can "hit it off". i am asking for the truth of the matter, like if you can have six, unlike just seeing sixualy suggestive things, because my parents realy care about that stuff. so, dont think you guys know everybodies situations. besides, this game is being made by obsidion, so it likely could have more intense sixual themes.

All of this was pretty much explained by other people in your old thread. You should've just posted this there, too. No need for making a new topic.

Mature games for mature gamers. Not much more to explain. If you cannot buy this game, or your parents think you cannot handle this game, then don't buy it.

More than likely it was locked because no one can answer this question. No one has played the game fully and therefore no one knows the answer. Also, if this question must be asked, then obviously you should wait to buy it until it's been released for a while. Simple as that buddy.

Ok really quick I will say this; no one knows how graphic it will be until the game comes out, that said, if you really want to play a mature game it’s up to you to talk with your parents and convince them that your mature enough to handle it. In the finial anolysis it’s up to your parents to determine if they trust you to be able to handle the content.

Virtually killing dozens of people and critters is fine son! So long as you're not having the six!

Your not gonna get the game because your parents are up tight and say violence is better then six in video games. No there is not going to be any graphic six or nudity but you will be exploding people into meat chunks. Dont get me wrong violence in video games is fun but I dont understand why people get up and fight games if a side boob appears but when you are horrifically killing people its fine but no naked people.

There is no graphical six or nudity in F:NV - if there was, it would be displayed on the ESRB label. There is going to be an awful lot of cursing and suggestive themes/language, along with skimpily dressed but non-nvde 'strippers' and other characters. There will be some sixually explicit language (such as Fisto! the robot), but it probably won't be anything a 16 year old won't hear within thirty minutes of entering his high school in the morning.

It's because of the history of America. America, or to be clear, The United States of America was founded by puritans. Puritans viewed nudity and any sixual act other than a man and woman trying to have children as a sin. And even then, the only acceptable method of trying for children was missionary. These are also the same people who thought it was good to hang, burn, drown, press, and rip people apart for suspected "witchcraft" and dealing with "witches." Much of that mindset has persisted through the 200+ years since the country's founding so in American homes, television and video game violence is generally ok, but nudity and sixuality is generally bad.

Yeah because everyone knows we're running out of threads. We need to start rationing them and only use them for super serious topics like what gun we prefer or the umpteen steam threads.

Salem witch trials that was just horrible anyways I get a taste living in america I get the six is bad, but my father is english and he doesn't understand why violence is worse so when I was younger (not to young) If I was going to get a game with nudity my father would not care but with violence he cared more about that. (when I was younger because I don't live in my parents house)

As explained, there won't be any actual full nudity shown. And it has been mentioned that there will be prostitution, and you can hire these prosttutes (but again, it won't show anything), but the keyword is "can". You don't have to hire prosttutes, it is a choice.

I recall hearing them say that six in New Vegas would fade to a black screen and you would hear suggestive language.

Ah HA! found it, here's the ESRB on New Vegas. Your parents can read this, or you can find the ESRB on another site. but there ya go

"This is an action role-playing game, set in a post-apocalyptic Mojave Desert, in which players assume the role of a survivor hero who investigates a mystery and performs a series of quests. Missions allow players to explore the Mojave Desert, surrounding casinos, and abandoned facilities; other quests involve combat with human and mutant survivors. Players use chainsaws, laser rifles, knives, and sledgehammers to kill enemies. Fighting can be frenetic and intense, highlighted by various camera effects (e.g., slow motion, blurring, screen shakes) and depictions of dismemberment, blood spray, and blood trails. In one sequence, players can choose to activate a collar bomb around a slave-woman’s neck, resulting in depictions of blood and gore. During the course of the game, players will encounter male and female prosttutes: the screen fades to black as suggestive dialogue is heard in the background (e.g., “Nice charlies, too! Give them a shake for the Ben-man, will ya?”); there is also an extended sequence suggesting (no depiction) sixual activity with a robot (e.g., “Fisto reporting for duty . . . Please assume the position,” “I suppose I should test you out . . . Servos active!” and “Something wrong with someone if they got to f**k a machine.”). The storyline sometimes references a fictional drug called “chems,” as well as “Day Trippers,” “cracked out junkies,” and “degenerate, drug-addicted killers.” Players’ Character can be seen consuming the drugs, which sometimes leads to a screen-blurring effect."

*On an related note, reminds me of a comedian I saw who complained about the "my name is Buck and I'm here to (censored to -> Party)" line in Kill Bill Vol.2 and how it's "ok" for kids to watch Uma Therman cut 87 people's heads off with a samurai sword, but if they hear the F-bomb the world will end.

Good point there. So to the OP, discuss that fact with your parents and if you have to play the card, you can tell them that even though nothing will be shown, you agree not to hire prosttutes in the game. Make sure you say "in the game" because that leaves you a loophole to hire them irl. lol

Yes and if you will read the last post you will know the reason it was locked and it is forbidden to post post another thread about a locked topic.

There will be suggested six. There will not be explicit six scenes.

Answered and locked.

I suggest you read the http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/724862-forum-rules-and-general-information/ as you agreed to abide by them when joining the forum and we enforce them fairly strictly.

This one would have cautioned you against making this topic after your other one was locked.
