Too bad TIE is not modular. It has so many things I like, but also many things I don't like...

Right now, I'm playing through with FCOM and enjoying it very much. I used to be a OOO+MMM man myself, but I really loved some of the features Fran's had compared to OOO and I really wished I could put them in someway. Then I found out about FCOM and I've been happier ever since. Also added WarCry into the equation, as I was really into Diablo the first time I started playing with it. I skipped on Bob's Armory though. Thinking about doing T.I.E. Integration, but I don't know if it would be worth it or not. Anyone have any comments on that?

I do TIE-In + FCOM, and I love it. It makes the game really hard at the low levels (you have to be very careful where you go), and you end up fighting lots of goblins, but you come into your own about L10 (meaning you won't get beaten down by bandits and raiders, not that you can tramp all over the landscape and kill everything). I played to around L25 with my last PC before the saves got corrupted, and I never got bored for lack of a challenge. Oblivion gates were plenty challenging, and there was still lots of stuff out there that was more than happy to kick my butt for me.

My current characters is L11 now, and I'm still wearing magical leather and chainmail armor, with a magic mithril shield - I simply haven't found anything better, besides a glass cuirass with chameleon (and I hate chameleon). With all the quest mods I've got, I expect to be active well into my 30s, maybe even to 40. I've never gotten above L34...

Too bad TIE is not modular. It has so many things I like, but also many things I don't like...

Yeah.TIE-In is a little less tweaked; fortunately, there were only a few things I didn't like and I could change them myself (repair hammers weighing 4 pounds?!).

I just got Oblivion for PC in the summer and having played vanilla to death on the Xbox I decided to use an overhaul just to see what it was like. I looked around to see what overhaul was easiest to install so I gave OOO+MMM a try and never looked back, it made Oblivion into a whole new game for me and I have barely scratched the surface of it yet in the last 3 months, and it isn't even that hard to install if you read the instructions carefully. I may have tried FCOM had it not looked like an utter nightmare for me to install (back when I couldn't install anything properly, I could probably do it now though) but I'm quite satisfied right now with what I have, and now that I haven't got the esp slots FCOM is out of the question anyway.

As for modularity it's got good things and bad things about it IMO when something is modular things can get a little confusing for some people with compatibility OOO+MMM is a good example because you can only use the full version of OOO and some spawn rate addons and not compatible but you would only know that if you read the instructions (which you should anyway). It is great for customizing your game exactly how you want it though.
I prefer merged esps for easy installs/uninstalls, saving esp slots for other great mods, and making compatibility easier to understand so I don't have to know what each addon is/isn't compatible with something.
