I have to say, one of the things I loved best about Fallout 3 was interacting with all the great characters in it. Charon was a character I found particularly interesting, which makes it rather sad that you never really find out much about him in-game (honestly, I'm surprised that he doesn't have much of a fan following). I feel like he has potential for a great back story, though, so I'm considering writing one. Not the whole thing, mind you. I don't particularly feel like defining what exactly happened to brainwash him, because I sort of like the vagueness of it. More like a little side story, an adventure that he could have had to end up in Azrukhal's employ... and what reasons he might have to do what he does right after you hire him.

Does that sound like a good idea to anyone? Would you guys want to read it?

This could be interesting. I, too, would of liked a back-story. To be honest, I'd like backstories for all companions. Fair enough, Butch has one but you know.

Yea when I went to talk to Krea I asked him about Charon and he just told me a small story about his life. I was left a little wanting. At first I thought hey kewl I'll go talk to Charon and there could be something kewl or maybe a new quest in for me, but no he just told me to talk to Krea.

Charon is certainly my favorite character in the game.

He kind of does have a little fan following, at least in the stories I've browsed on fanfiction.net. The best one is called The Ghoul, The Bad, and The Ugly which I won't link to since it's rated Mature for language. But you can find it if you go to Games > Fallout > Change the rating setting to Mature and click Go > it should be the eigth or so down. There are a few other good ones as well.

Well. The whole thing is Underworld related...Considering 'The Ninth Circle' is in the Ghoul city of Underworld which is inside the History museum's underworld area thing. They've even got a guard-robot called Cerburus.

I actually wrote up a first chapter of a Charon fanfic explaining his background from my perspective, though I don't know if I'm going to be writing anymore or not. I have a problem with rapidly losing interest in story ideas.
