Preorder bonus packs

Post » Tue Nov 16, 2010 11:10 pm

I was looking at the various preorder packs for Fallout: New Vegas from different stores, and on more then one occasion I found myself thinking about what sort of stats certain items had and what some things did and how they could benefit me. I wanted to see what the community thought of the various packs and what each item's stats and abilities are. This is merely for speculation and if you somehow came across the actual details behind the items in the packs I'd appreciate it if you hid it under a spoiler tag because I am quite excited to see what sort of bonuses to my armor and such the classic pack will bring and I want to keep it a suprise. So speculate away!

Well, the stats haven't been released, so everything is going to be speculation. However, for the Classic Pack, I'm guessing the suit and pistol will have only a slight bonus over the normal variation.

I have the Caravan Pack com ming for me, so I get an armor piece, a shotgun (hmmm I wonder what that does), Binoculars, and some Medical equipment. I know what all my stuff does... except that shotgun...

Any pack would be beneficial for starting characters. I picked the Caravan Pack because it suits my needs, you get a unique set of Leather Armor, a unique shotgun, and repair kits with some binoculars.

There are really no details on the item stats yet so I recommend if you want one of the add-ons you chose the one that will best suit your tastes. If you want a melee character I'd go with the Tribal Pack, if you want a good starting character for hardcoe mode I would pick the Classic Pack (You get stims and canteen), if you want tons of Firepower I would pick the Mercenary pack, if you want an all round add-on with good utility and the ability to repair weapons early on I would pick the Caravan Pack.
