Hi guys !!!

I did the quest "Come Fly With Me" and it started ! Until that quest, everything was fine. But from there on, nearly everytime I want to load a savegame, Fallout crashes back to to windows. I installed both patches via steam, but that bug still isn′t fixed. :sadvaultboy:

I REALLY love Fallout, but it is very hard to keep on going if you keep in mind that it is possible that you have to start all over again.

Any suggestions ?!

Unfortunately any patch that fixes this bug is only likely to fix the game so that future occurrences do not happen. It will probably not repair corrupted saves as that would probably require a purpose built utility. So for now- go ahead and continue an earlier save or restart and avoid that quest until patched.

Something similar here. Just completed the "fly with me" quest, went back to Novac and got rewarded, checked out my new room then saved and quit. My auto save (upon entering room), my quicksave, and the save I did before exiting the game (both also in the room) all cause my game to crash. Very frustrating. Lost about 90 minutes worth of play time. Not sure yet if I'll play from an earlier save or shelve the game until they fix it.


edit: I loaded an old save game. It is definitely the "fly with me" quest that is bugged. Tried saving and reloading games at multiple spots on the quest... the game is being corrupted or something somewhere between telling the human dude that thinks he is a ghoul (Carl?) to go to Novac and reaching the observation level to launch the rockets.

I don't think it's quest specific, I did that one a while ago and had no problems. Today after clearing out Vault 3 while not on a specific quest to be there, my auto and quick saves are now causing CTDs upon trying to load.

I loaded up a manual save while inside the vault, went outside without speaking to a certain quest character, quick saved in the wastelands, tried to reload the quick and now CTD

I just loaded up a manual save 2 hours prior to Vault 3 exploration and it loaded fine. I made a quicksave and reloaded fine. Staying away from Vault 3! :\

Apparently there is some debate as to whether it is the quest or some action. I got the bug first play through. Someone suggested not going back to the basemant via the outside ladder.

So I did the quest again by always going in the front door and it worked, no save corruption. So not sure.
