Their lips move, but no noise comes

Post » Mon Nov 22, 2010 6:59 am

I just got Fallout 3 New Vegas, and it looks amazing so far. The problem is is that for some reason, I can't hear any sound from NPCs during any conversation (or when I'm walking by).I see their lips moving, but no noise comes out. I tried the strategy mentioned in the sticky (Read before your post), but it didn't do anything. I attached my DXDIAG, if it helps. Thanks in advance.

I tried several things, but what finally worked was updating all of my codecs to the latest version. If you have any kind of codec pack installed, I'd try doing that. Since then I've had not audio issues (except for the same three songs playing over and over on the radio... but that's another story)

How do I update my codecs?
