Mission: "Beyond the Beef", Part: "Meet with the investigator's contact in the Ultra-Luxe steam room at 4pm."

I'm at the point after you find the Matchbook with the "meet someone in the steam room at 4pm". So I go down to the room and sit, wait until 4pm and Chauncey walks in and sits down. I try to talk to him and the game Crashes To Desktop. If I wait outside the room where the pool is then as soon as he walks into the room the game CTD. I've tried waiting outside the pool room, the game has to load between the rooms, then walked to the steam room where he is sitting but then when I try to talk to him the game CTD.

Anyone else having this problem or a fix?

Your not the only one, I am having the exact same problem. Every time 4 P.M. hits and I am in that area of the casino the game freezes up and crashes. I haven't been able to find a solution yet.

Latest update. The second I talk to Chauncey, it crashes. Thankfully, I save a lot and I'll back up to before the Ultra-luxe. Might fire up the GECK and see if there's something in the scripting.

EDIT: Looking at the entry in the GECK... I get the feeling there's something missing, like the introduction or HELLO dialog for Chauncey is missing. Not that experienced with the editor tools, but it doesn't seem to match the pattern for the other NPC's. Someone more knowledgeable would probably know.

Thought I would post my spec since it seems that 3 of us have an i7. Would edit my first post but I do not have rights to do so, whatever that means.

Im having similar issue on all spots on map, dialog problems, companions that wont follow, getting stuck exiting rooms, getting stuck walking, getting stuck sleeping, did i mention getting stuck?

It looks like it's caused by the spontaneous monologues of one of the bathing ladies in the bath area. You'll notice if you try to talk to them that one of them will crash your game every time. Her presence seems to cause the whole area to be unstable.

Hey i've run across this same bug. talking to Chauncey in the steam room always caused a game crash. I read the earlier post and tried to put "distance" btw myself and the alleged "buggy NPC" in the pool area. I simply closed both doors btw the pool and back steam room and then was able to complete the convo with Chauncey. That arae sure is buggy tho...after the convo i went to quicksave and promtly crashed. no biggie tho the save file was fine and loaded it up with no problem. Let me know if this helped you guys out.
