What could this be?

I'll bet my backside it's speechcraft. Mercantile and speechcraft will be merged,no doubt about it.
When you barter etc,you use your speech, charm, smooth talk...it's all the same. It will be speechcraft ( mixed with mercantile ) and nothing more.

It must be speechcraft, I can't think of nothing else. Woodcraft?
my lumberjack character's woodcrafting is maxed, when he cuts down trees they fall appart into chairs and dressers.

First let me point out it cannot be part of the "Mage" skills because the "AFT" skills is before Alchemy. Which we know to now be a "Thief" skill. On the far right we see "Smith" Smithing is confirmed and it is under the "Warrior" skills. Each nebula (Mage, Thief, Warrior) has six skill constellations.

It was my understanding that Speechcraft was merged with Mercantile like many others have said already. And that would make sense because it's placed in the "Thief" skill set which already has a cra-afting skill. Alchemy.

Hilarious! If Speechcraft is still in I could easily see it being part of the stealth category anyway. Ya know getting information by your sly talking and such. And in the screenshot it is only at level 15, and I remember I never had high speechcraft or mercantile in Bethesda games.

Probably Speechcraft merged with Mercantile. After all, you have to impress the locals with your tremendous singing voice as well as fool honest merchants in giving you stuff for free :)

You bought that one for a song!

Which is a bit weird if you are an Altmer, because they probably have real nice singing voices ( just ask Tolkien ), but you'll get nothing for free, because everyone thinks you're an arrogant [censored].

Ok so we know there are 18 "combat" skills split into 3 sections of six, one for mages, warriors and rouges/theives. Now im just guessing here but maybe there are other skills that are dedicated to Crafting items such as woodcutting, smithing and the like. Therefor this "AFT" could be in that section.

Smithing makes sense as one of the 18 skills because it's essentially Armorer with a new name. But woodcutting, fishing, and all the other time-fillers that we've been promised, I don't see them as becoming their own actualized skills with perks and whatnot. We'll probably just engage in the activities, and any direct [insert activity here] skill won't be relevant.

This is merely my hypothesis, a simple guess.

The character is a Dark Elf and already level 9, a skill at 15 could be a racial bonus since if it was something they used often it'd probably be higher.

Now I might have faulty memory, but I could have sworn Dunmer weren't the most enjoyable people to talk with, so it's likely it's not speechcraft.

Again this is just a GUESS. This may sound nonsense to any of you, but it's still possible.

:P

Hey nah! I like talking to Dunmers. :P In fact they're one of my favorite races to play as too (Ninjas FTW)
