pc or xbox, which one to get

Go with the 360 version. The PC version will last a week or so before you start seeing aimbots and speed hacks.

Xbox 360. I am going to do like you, see the reviews first and then maybe buy it. If it gets under 7.5/10, i'll :brokencomputer:

Did you manage to get a look on the 360 Mod video where he had modded the gravity? IN AN ONLINE CO-OP MATCH

It made me a wee bit scared of seeing online modders/hackers on the 360, if this guy made it, what is stopping everyone else to do the same? I just don't want hackers/modders online..

Are you serious? Someone all ready figured out some lame JTAG hack for Brink before it's even out?

I really hate online gamers. I love games, but all this exploiting, hacking, boosting, cheating has all but turned me away from online gaming and I'm pretty close to finding a new hobby.

i forgot to add this BUT i do have a controller for the pc, i have gotten semi use to playing with mouse keyboards , and even if i dont want to my laptop screen is 18.4 in corner to corner (widescreen) and my tv i play xbox on is like 12. (non widescreen) also my tv is an older one so small text=blury=unreadable (bfbc2 im sorry ur a GREAT game, but not being able to read what the perks do kind of breaks the game) so i actually have a better image if i just turn my laptop towards my recliner and tilt the screen than if i play on my tv , i HAVE played some online games on pc but its stuff like battlefield for free and Americas army , the crysis 2 demo (though that was before i finally got a gaming mouse) and ive been playing some borderlands (single player) , and i can run borderlands maxed out (include AA)... my laptop gets HOT but it runs it with NO fps drop.. im talking smooth sailing. thats every setting maxed out (sept depth of feild, i just dont like it). also ive never been happy with the community on xbox. to many kids who dont want to work together(lol im only 18 and im talking about "kids"), most dont have mics . i like to work WITH people. i find the win MUCH more satisfying . most of the people on my xbox accounts friends list are just people i have meet online and are just names in the list.. a few are friends. but only one or 2 of them are on much.and i can talk to them other places.

I would have voted PC, but since my PC is old and can't run BRINK (well it could, but im a graphics [censored]) I chose the 360. At least I'll get to experience this amazing game first hand.

If you are fairly casual and more comfortable with a controller get the xbox version.

If you like to play at a high level the PC version will provide a more challenging environment and capacity for improvement. You can join a clan and play matches in organized leagues with your clan. You can also build a reputation both as a clan and individual because of dedicated servers.
However you would have to learn kb/mouse which takes alot of time.

I think people are only voting for PC mainly on biased votes. Allow me to elaborate the Pro's and Con's of each system and decide for yourself.

Xbox 360
Pros:
-Greater percentage of users have Mics.
-Graphics will look the same or better unless you have an up-to-par computer that can run the Very High setting on PC
-Possibility of having a giant community.

Cons:
-Matchmaking can take forever depending on your NAT type as opposed to dedicated servers with a small loading time to connect to.
-Can potentially be out done graphically by PC's
-Chances of getting unsportsman-like players on your team are higher

PC
Pros:
-If you can run the Very High setting on a high resolution it will look noticeably better.
-Nice, More tight knit community.
-Keyboard/Mouse controls may provide an easier playing experience as Mouse out does anologue sticks for aiming any day.
-Dedicated servers, You don't have to go through matchmaking.

Cons:
-Possibility of having a smaller player community then XBL so you're more likely to play against the same people
-If your computer isn't up to par you may experience lag trying to run higher settings you also may lag if other players are from other regions (Assuming PC doesn't have Region Restriction)
-Also if you're computer isn't up to par, It can look worse then xbox on lower settings.

Details and Personal opinions:

I just want to go over a few details on some points that I view could be broken down in more description to give a better idea of what it is.

First of all, The Up-To-Par PC issues. If you haven't bought a new PC or upgraded your GFX card on your PC in the past 2 years I can almost guarantee you won't be able to run Brink on Very High settings. So right there, One of the Pro's for PC is gone. On that note, About Lag. If there is no Region Restriction through Steam ( Haven't used it much so i don't know ) you can potentially be connecting to people from Europe and UK, Or North Americans if you are from those regions. If that's the case, Chances of you having a completely smooth game I'd say are unlikely, But possible. That's a risk you're going to have to decide you want to take.

Now onto the community issues. The PC has a smaller close knit community then XBL does. That being said, It's not SMALL small, It's just smallER then XBL. That's a good thing considering most of that community is made up of nice, Team players. Altho, If this game goes BOOM like CoD or Halo did, The amount of players online for XBL could be massive in comparison to PC. Those are both Pro's of each. The cons however, Can be pretty brutal. On XBL more players have mics which is another pro for a team based game, But, there are always, Immature, Selfish, Egotistical players that will do anything in their power to avoid helping the team and/or trying to ruin everyone else fun by being ignorant. But if you have a few buddies you're playing with it's really not that bad. On PC with a smaller community divided among regions certain times of the day can reach a low point for online play. Early mornings and late evening play for the North America will have considerably less people on then during say, 3-7pm. Any times later or earlier then those most players have school, Work, Ect. and won't be playing. Which in turn could mean playing with/against more bots then desirable or playing with players from other regions which could then lead to lag issues. Again, Really up to you which risk your willing to take.

As for my opinion, My PC is made for gaming and can run it on very high settings, But, I'm still going with XBox. To me the Pro's are more in my direction, I don't really care that the PC might have graphics that are a little more polished and dedicated servers. I think having a potentially bigger community will out-weight the cons. I like playing with new people, Keeps things fresh.

Started this as a thread but I was told to post here. Sorry for an overly huge post, Guys.

I'm betting Splash Damage nor Bethesda care which system anyone buys it on as long as they buy it. ;)

The correct answer to this is always to play it on the platform/console you prefer or have. Base your decision on your own individual circumstances and preferences.

im leaning for the pc, and i dont know what you are talking about with people on xbox live having mics, NO1 on live has mics, sept me, so teamword doesnt exist.

im going back and forth, it will probably be tomorrow before i decide but im leaning with pc, mainly cas i spent a grand on it earlier in the year and i want to use it.. when you guys talk about a "smaller" community are you talking like 100,1000, or 10000, cas if its under 1000 then im going to consider it for the console

Well i got Homefront from steam and only about 1,000 players are ever one at once. On a good day i think the most you'll ever see online at once on anything really is about 5,000 for PC. Maybe like 10,000-15,000 if its popular like CoD. Consoles will always have a bigger gaming community.

what are the numbers for cod right now anyway? and i dont think a whole lot of people play homefront anyway... but that defiantly makes me think....... since its a mulitplayer game mods arnt a huge issue (like with skyrim, im totaly 100% getting that game for pc)

I am going to say PC, you will get friends on steam if you use these formus, I already do. On top of all that the xbox controller can be used for PC, I have done it once, on black ops..
