I dont remember it happening in FO1 but when i start a conversation with an npc the background music stops dead, it starts playing from the start of the track when i leave conversation...normal?

Yup. Perfectly normal.

Cool, it's just that sometimes it gets faded down instead of stopping dead, seems random.
