Most powerful (sentient/standard) Lesser Daedra

http://imperial-library.info/content/fight-one-eating-birth-dagon. Also, keep in mind that the kind Leaper Demon King is Magnus in this.

I've read it before but I just don't get how akatosh becomes so powerful.

Alduin is described as being a giant consuming being (times eats all) in nordish myth. He ate the previous kalpas and creates a new one.

Also, when it comes to divine beings, best to ignore power levels.

Is it safe to assume that worship powers some gods? I remember reading a book(Gods and Worship) that claims that is the case. Akatosh is a rather popular god.

However, is Sheogorath not also predictable in his unpredictability?

I'd say so-ish. I think Vivec made the same claim too.

Did he? I've put off Morrowind's main quest for too long. I have to meet Vivec.

The Ministry of Truth was held up by the faith of the people. Was that Vivec simply trying to get more followers, or was it literally a case of no worshippers = no power? Sotha Sil seemed to be fine. I mean, he had no followers, yet remained immortal for years. (He out-lived his life span, anyway)

I've viewed it as more of a gesture by Vivec that there's no going back to the way things once were. Sheogorath, once worshipped by the Dunmer, is now an enemy and the people must acknowledge that he and the other Daedra are no longer their gods; the Tribunal are.

Well imagine him as an infinite sided dice. You can safely say there is variability, but you can't safely claim that he would not be static for some time. Even an infinite sided dice can land on the same number consecutively an infinite amount of times, as time reaches infinity.

I think that the easy solution to finding power levels would be to build a magical scouter of some sort.

Anyways, Vivec did say that worship was in part powering the Tribunal to some extent, which is why the Nerevarine cult had to be persecuted so greatly. Otherwise, Ghostgate would have fallen, allowing Dagoth Ur to escape, corprus to run free, blight to spread, that sort of thing.

Also would have caused MoT to fall prematurely, leading to the situation that Morrowind is in now.

Well, the MoT thing isn't really directly powered by V-man. Once he froze it in time, it was the people who powered it, not him, or at least that's what is implied. But, yeah you are right in that it would have fallen pre-maturely.
