Need some serious help with Fallout 2...

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:33 am

Ammo is too expensive. Guns are too expensive. Enemies are too tough. I'm having a hard time with this game. FO1 was alot easier for me, because they supplied me with a gun and plenty of ammo to start off.. but this...this is crazy! Need alot of tips and advice please, I plan to start over.

I'm choosing Small Guns and Steal, as for the other skill, I need help deciding.

The beginning to Fallout 2 frankly svcks.

Best advice to a new player is to tag melee or unarmed and just svck it up. Or save/load a lot until you get a gun.

It's a bit tough to start with, especially if you run into someone with a burst weapon and you just have a pistol. And golden geckos. But it's not THAT tough, and you should be fine with small guns, and I recommend lock pick too. Where abouts are you? Have you reached Klamath yet? What you need to do is get Sulik as soon as possible. Search everywhere for stuff to sell until you have enough. Feel free to avoid fights that seem to tough, and come back later.

Speech may be a good choice. That or Lockpick. Make sure you have a 10 in Agility and a high Intelligence.

As soon as you leave the temple in Arroyo, use your Repair skill on the well. Talk to the guy by the stone head, and the guy in the tent next to the stone head. They will give you melee and unarmed training, which should be good enough until you get a gun ~No need to Tag Unarmed or Melee.

Your best bet is to quickly get to Klamath, raid Vic's shop (and everything else you can find) and speak to/recruit Sulik. Do a few easy quests there, Then head for the Den and speak to Lara and her gang, her questline will result in you getting some weaponry with little to no danger to yourself.

Once you've got a bit of good equipment you can head back to Klamath/Arroyo and do the quests you weren't well enough equipped to do.

Thanks for the help guys. Where is Vic's shop in Klamath?

Walk north when you enter Klamath and you should see a building with a sign saying "Vic's".

Just try to make do for a little bit longer and you will start hitting encounters like "Caravan fighting slavers" or "Raiders being massacred by mantis". Sit in the back and after everyone has killed each other loot the bodies.

Its all gravy from that point on.
