Maybe people should realize that it is a game and he is an easter egg character they can include him in the game if they want without having to justify it to the masses of nerds using lore
^ This, so hard. He's an easter egg, he doesn't have to be M'aiq's great-great-great grandson or the ghost of M'aiq. He can just be M'aiq.
Ahh yes, I forgot it was 200 years after! The descendant idea does sound neat though. Unless of course, our friend M'aiq the Liar has discovered the secret to eternal life.
or maybe when he was old and could run around making amusing/slightly to moderatly flamebaiting topics he settled down and started to write them down... so why not a series of new books that are written by Miaq and could be called "miaq's most quotable lines" or what ever.

Give M'aiq a spear, turn into a were...cat...yeah WereCat every month and jab you with it and everytime you try to attack him he gets on a Dragon and flies away., and watch the people RAGE
Finding an old worn book in a dark cave with a bunch of Maiq quotes in it would be awesome, especially if that book is beside a spear on an altar, with light shining on it briliantly from the ceiling, begging to be picked up... but the game won't let you grab it
I'm loving this idea. What better way to talk about things that weren't in Skyrim than actually having M'aiq wielding one and passively taunting the player with it.. And if you try to kill him to take it it becomes "Broken spear" so you can't equip it.
