short summary of skyrim perks

Post » Wed Dec 22, 2010 5:09 pm

In skyrim there are many new perks and ways to make the game feel like real life such as you can get a job working as a cook, chopping wood or running a sawmill even in a small town like riverwood each town, city and small settlement has its own econmy so if you decide to destroy the work places you will ruin there financials
Dual wield of weapons and spells are going to be another great perk aswell as stealth assination kills allowing for quick executions

some interesting things in the game are also that if you kill some one somtimes one of there relations will come after you to avenge the loved one

also if you decide to clear out you inventory in the middle of a town or in the wilds if some one who likes you find some of the items you drop they will offer them back to you but lets face it we usually throw out these items for a reason cause there usless so you can let them keep the item and gain there praise

Yeah, title is kind of misleading, the actual PERKS are based off your skill, like 1h skill, 2h skill, etc. So if you spec into the 1h tree, you'll get perks for swords, maces, and axes, and we already know about all this since Jan-Feb. So to Melee2kil, you're wrong as well. Seriously, this info has been out for a LONG time.

According to Todd the perks won't be like fallout 3. It will be perk trees that works directly with a skill and I believe they will resemble the mastery-perk of OB. They have included perks to take away all the power related to the skill number, making it easier to define your character. Unless I'm totallly crazy and have gotten it all wrong :hubbahubba:

I don't remember reading anywhere that you could work as a cook. Sounds delicious if true. :P

If they were like Fallout 3 I wouldn't by the game. I thought all those perks were just dumb. Most of them were ridiculous and the rest didn't change much. Perks within skills is much better, because then the perks will actually help because they are highly specified to what skill their in.

Except the way you described it is totally incorrect. Explaining only works when you're giving a proper example.

The perks are more akin to skill trees that you select upon leveling up. These perks also have ranks that improve the more you stat points into them. As an example, there are Mace perks that initially grant you the ability to ignore some of your opponent's armor when using a Mace, and eventually ignore most/all of their armor stat.

Hey, there's no need to insult him. I don't think he meant perks as in the perks you're thinking of. I think he meant it more like "cool new little features that make the game overall better" kind of perks.

Similiar to this.

I think he meant perk in what the word actually means, like in real life. Not perk as in the special little bonuses for the skills. Calling him an idiot doesn't help explain anything.

I find the star sign over destruction interesting

It look like a perk tree, one base perk, then four other and at least two of them lead up to a master perk, perhaps it's also a line from the centre branch to the top to.
I also guess that the stars who are brighter than normal but not connected with lines are perks you can select, the one straight under the master perk is dim even if you have the perk under.
Probably because of skill or other requirmenets.

Also the other star sign are different and has different number of perks, destruction has 12, restoration 9 and conjugation 10

Cooking is a craft but not a skill don't know anything how it work or that it do, food might be needed in hardcoe mod or food could give a low level long term buff.

However it look like your Argonian don't need any food.

In the article that talks about the UI it states that stars represent the perks in each skill. Some have more stars then others, which means some skills have very little amounts of perks were others have lots. Your pretty much right in everything you said.
