every day developements happen in the middle east and elsewhere leading towards the possbility of a nuclear war, worse than the standoff of the Cold War. What do you think?

I think we should discuss this with the understanding that any real-world politics and religion will get it locked. :hehe:

Also I think an actual world-wide nuclear apocalypse is quite unlikely.

True. It keeps all the riff-raff out.

I agree. I think we're all too terrified to launch a nuclear device, knowing that it's quite likely to bring about the end of the world.

Yeah. To begin with, we'd have to have about 4x more nuclear weapons than we currently have (or even had). A widespread nuclear exchange, and even an all-out one would be far less damaging than people think.

At the risk of a lock, there are quite a few individuals in certain countries that would like nothing better than to light off a few nukes. We can only pray they never get their hands on them..

Exactly.

The strategy isn't called "M.A.D" for nothing.
