Elder Scrolls Future

Post » Sun Dec 26, 2010 6:52 am

To begin:

We must include all established cannon which means that latest revision wins.

The novel (s) are cannon.

History is subjective based upon the author (novels in particular give different accounts) thus the future may be subjective as well.

This Topic:

In order to post a response which adds a new version of the future you must provide us with the following base elements to discuss:

1) How many years past the events of Oblivion is this supposed future (may be approximate and also by era)
2) If the state of affairs differs greatly from those within the Infernal City you must give at least in brief a justification for the change (i.e. the Bosmer have ray-guns = Azura gave the Bosmeri the ability to create rayguns)

Final Rule:

HAVE FUN!

This isn't a thread about the future games you wish to play, this is about playful fun where we can laugh about the possible futures, or have meaningful discussions about how events shape a world, not about getting angry because someone had a thought and it was a moment in time... it isn't like anything in this thread is going to actually change the true future of Tamriel, so have fun with it, laugh and make jokes! We all have a lot of time before we play another TES game, we might as well spend it laughing at each other and the fun ideas we have. Lets have a thread where we can share that.

Here is a "starter" post to get the juices flowing:

I envision a future, in Elsweyr that 250 years past the events of Oblivion that the Khajiit have created a world bank that controls most of Tamriel. There has been major expansion and exploration into other continents. The alliances between races doesn't matter as much as allegiance to country. Nirn is an open world because the other continents are now involved and the Cats are cunning enough and greedy my moonsugar nature that they are the equivalent of the Illuminati of TES.

My fun with this is that I hope this never happens, but it would be fun to discuss it!

955th Era: All of Nirn is at war except for isolationist Summerset Isle. The akaviri forces launch a surprise attack on Summersets main harbor, bringing them into the war. The Altmer develop nuclear weapons and accidentally blow up all of Nirn.

5th era: the Dunmer pull a piece of Hyperspace Crystalline lattice into normal space, devastating Cyrodiil and wiping out the Imperials as the exotic hyperspace particles burn the forest to the ground and resurrect it as a jungle. The Hyperspace lattice is then used to power the light of Vivec, a devastating weapon whose power transforms all who oppose the Dunmer into maggots.

5th Era: The Dunmeri discover videogames and make historical-based games about the Eternal Champion, Septim's Agent, the Nevarine, and the CoC.

The empire crumbles and all the nations of the world rebel on them I would lead the armies of the high elves and conquer all the world with sorcery :P

while the kajit make a truce with the woodelves and both invade the empire from their respective borders, the argonians launch an attack from the black marches and the nations of hamerfell attack from the north west.

Its safe to say that I HATE the empire and all that it stands for and I wish we play the next ES game as it crumbles into historical oblivion

They're attempting that, but so far it's just Summerset absorbing Valenwood.

while the kajit make a truce with the woodelves and both invade the empire from their respective borders,

The bosmer are with the altmer, and the khajiit are now in complete anarchy, save for cities ruling with an iron fist and discrimination wandering khajiit tribes. The cities are still multicultural, while the wandering tribes don't like non-khajiit too much. Hell, their Mane was assassinated, which is a huge [censored] deal. ATM, the khajiit aren't doing too hot.

the argonians launch an attack from the black marches

Actually, after Morrowind got completely owned by Red Mountain, the argonians invaded all of Morrowind, and took southern territories, most likely disputed Dres territories. The argonians also are trying to shove all non-argonians out of Black Marsh, headed by a fanatical argonian group. Also, they're extremely isolationist and don't really plan on moving much more, other than the aquired territories of Morrowind.

and the nations of hamerfell attack from the north west.

Nothing about them, but I'd say it's safer to assume High Rock, Hammerfell, and Daggerfall receded back to many city states that are constantly bickering with each other, ala Daggerfall.

Its safe to say that I HATE the empire and all that it stands for and I wish we play the next ES game as it crumbles into historical oblivion

The Empire is rebuilding, but only in Cyrodiil at the moment, headed by a bandit warlord now emperor named Titus Mede, with his only son, Atrebus Mede, next in line, though Atrebus is currently on an adventure to save the world from Umbra

The citizens of Nirn find out that the Dwemer where actually using the heart of Lorkan as a proto server, and red mountain as a distribution point tied into all the other towers.
The people of Tamrial now spend much of the time watching multi species porm...
Screaming at people with other views over long distances, thinking they're gods when beating a child on ARENA: 2 the smack down and trying to get through to a non Khajiit help service.

Which leads to an over consumption of resources, magical nukes get launched draining all magical energy forever.
Leading to "science" taking over, as strange looking rats, zombies and ogres try to wipe out the last survivours led by....

THE ADORING FAN and his best friend crabmeat the talking mudcrab dun dun duuuuun.

Fargoth continues to complain about the Imperials, the guards, and any authority at all that he comes in contact with. His constant whining is mistaken for political rhetoric by the confused masses who are looking for a leader. Thus Fargoth is shoved, unwillingly, into leading a revolution. He is eventually named Prime Minister of Tamriel's first true democracy. He assassinated one year into his third term by a rogue Shadowscale who is motivated solely by his hatred for Bosmer. Fargoth is laid to rest in a white marble tomb and remembered throughout history as the "Father of Freedom." The history books will not mention his ring or his hiding place.
